MANILA: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) expressed its readiness for the scheduled homecoming parade for the Filipino athletes who joined the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Below is the specific parade route (which is 7.7 kilometers long):
- V. Sotto (Aliw Theater), left turn to
- Roxas Boulevard, right turn to
- P. Burgos Avenue, straight ahead to
- Finance Road, right turn to
- Taft Avenue, right turn to
- President Quirino Avenue, left turn to
- Adriatico Street, left turn to
- Rizal Memorial Sports Complex
A total of 300 personnel — which include traffic enforcers and street sweepers — will be deployed to ensure orderliness and cleanliness during the parade.
Meanwhile, MMDA Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes guaranteed that the public would be given ample time to see Olympic medalists Carlos Yulo, Nesthy Petecio, and Aira Villegas, as well as the other Olympic athletes, in the homecoming parade.
“The speed of vehicles included in the parade will be six kilometers per hour to give the public the chance to see the Philippine Olympic team. Stop-and-go traffic scheme will be implemented and the approximate time for the parade is about 45 minutes,” he said during a press conference.
In addition, the agency chief noted that the float carrying the Olympians will have a provision for rain cover in case of a downpour.
“There will be a celebration, and at the same time honoring our athletes who worked very hard to achieve such a historic and extraordinary achievement in the Olympics,” he said.
Aside from athletes who will be aboard an elevated flatbed vehicle, the parade will be made up of MMDA motorcycle units, members of the Philippine National Police, MMDA band, media, and ambulance. Strictly no other vehicles will be allowed to join the group.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes during the time of the parade:
Northbound towards R-10
- Skyway
- Buendia Avenue
- Taft Avenue
- F.B Harrison Street
- Mabini Street
- President Quirino Avenue
- Lacson Avenue
Southbound
- Roxas Boulevard
- United Nations Avenue
- San Marcelino
- Quirino Avenue to South Luzon Expressway
The parade will be followed by a short program at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. The event is free and open to the public.
