Here is the Ferrari 812VS that will be launched in May
MANILA: The first official photos of the newest limited-edition special series of Ferrari have been released ahead of its global debut, — to be shown live on the social media channels of the Maranello-headquartered brand on May 5, 2021.
The latest iteration is considered the pinnacle of Ferrari's idea of an intense front-engined berlinette, which masters the features of the well-acclaimed 812 Superfast to unprecedented levels.
The outcome is a vehicle that exemplifies and embodies the 70-plus years of experience of the company on the world’s circuits. It builds on its thoroughbred sports vehicle DNA to bring an ideal combination of function, form, and performance.
In the case of all Ferrari vehicles, the most noticeable feature is at its core — the newest transformation of the iconic Maranello 65° V12 engine. This attains the highest output of any Ferrari road-car engine of 819hp and revs up to 9,500 rpm, the highest of any Ferrari ICE.
The new valve timing mechanism, the restyling of several main components of the engine, a new exhaust system, and the utilization of cutting-edge materials are a few of the technical solutions that enable the most significant of Ferrari engines to attain performance levels that are unprecedented in the V12 category.
The pure, brutal power of the powertrain is combined with class-leading vehicle dynamics controls to guarantee that the performance is completely exploited and that the driver attains a pleasurable experience behind the steering wheel.
The adoption of independent steering on all four wheels is the most unique feature among these solutions. This increases the sense of accuracy and agility while cornering as well as offers unrivaled responsiveness to steering inputs.
Another notable engineering milestone is the development work done to lessen the total weight of the vehicle as opposed to the 812 Superfast. This was attained partly through the extensive utilization of carbon fiber, both on the cockpit and the exterior of the car.
Finally, the latest model launches Version 7.0 of the well-known Side Slip Control vehicle dynamics system.
One of the most noticeable features of this new model is how extensive aerodynamic research has changed the lines of the vehicle.
Working closely with the Ferrari Styling Center, the aerodynamicists have used solutions that are extreme in form with profiles that are uncommon for a road-legal vehicle.
The aerodynamic restyling of the entire vehicle was targeted toward maximizing downforce levels — from the exhaust configuration, rear diffuser, and new front air intakes to the patented design of the rear screen (which currently houses vortex generators). Any alteration is a solid reflection of the major belief of Ferrari that form should always match function.
Considering the perspective of style, this new special series holds a distinct personality that significantly distinguishes it from the 812 Superfast on which it is based. This was accomplished through the selection of design themes that further improve the architectural dynamism and style of the 812 Superfast, which also drives its athletic profile to new heights.
The decision to modify the glass rear screen with a single-piece aluminum structure is one example of this.
Meanwhile, the vortex generators that it flaunts enhance the aerodynamic efficiency of the vehicle, but the selected design solution, which is completely incorporated with the roof, also provides a backbone effect that highlights the sculptural forms of the vehicle.
This theme, in conjunction with the carbon-fiber blade that crosses the bonnet, alters the general perception of the vehicle’s volumes. The bonnet appears to be shorter, which further highlights the vehicle width.
Currently, the tail has a more solid, fastback appearance, making it seem more compact and competition-like regardless of sharing the formal balance, proportions, and silhouette of the 812 Superfast.
The rear spoiler now appears to be more constraining, as it is higher, but the specific design treatment utilized makes the tail look very broad and almost horizontal.
The interior design is reflective of the 812 Superfast, with the main dash and door panel volumes and interfaces retained, including the iconic diapason theme.
The door panel, together with the other interior elements, has been restyled to minimize weight. Together with the inclusion of the H-gate theme on the tunnel, it gives the cockpit a more contemporary and sportier edge that represents the racing spirit of the vehicle.
