Here are some of the things that the participating brands will be showcasing in their booths at this year’s Japan Mobility Show:
Toyota
Two battery electric vehicle (BEV) concepts will be unveiled by Toyota at the event ― the FT-3e and the FT-Se.
The FT-3e features a futuristic yet minimalist aesthetic, while the FT-Se is a high-performance sports BEV designed with Toyota Gazoo Racing.
Other concept cars that will be featured at Toyota’s booth are the all-electric, seven-seater Land Cruiser SE and the EPU midsize electric pickup.
Toyota will also exhibit the new Century and Crown models, as well as the lunar buggy that it developed.
Visitors will also get a chance to experience the New Era Operating (NEO) Steering, a technology that Toyota is working on to allow drivers to control vehicles from a standing or wheelchair position without the need for gas or brake pedals.
Honda
The Japanese carmaker will be featuring a wide range of concept vehicles at the event, including the Honda Specialty Sports Concept electric sports car, the Sustaina-C Concept small electric car, the SC e:Concept electric scooter, and the Pocket Concept foldable electric motorcycle.
Also gracing the event is the HondaJet electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, which was designed to make “three-dimensional mobility” available for people.
Honda also announced that the Cruise Origin, a self-driving car that will be used for ride-hailing services, will be unveiled at the event.
Mitsubishi
The all-new Mitsubishi Triton will be displayed at the event. This rugged pickup truck exudes a commanding presence, sporting the Dynamic Shield concept on the front fascia.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has recently started accepting reservations for the all-new Triton, which is set to arrive in the country early next year.
A replica of the Asia Cross Country Rally Triton car will also be exhibited in Mitsubishi’s booth at the Japan Mobility Show, along with the Delica D:5 support car.
Mitsubishi will also bring out two concept cars — the Last 1 mile Mobility and an electric multi-purpose vehicle.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle), Eclipse Cross PHEV, and the eK X EV will also be present at the show.
Nissan
Nissan Motor Company will unveil a series of all-electric concept vehicles at the Japan Mobility Show. All of the concept vehicles will have the word “hyper” in their names to convey the excitement that they are set to bring. Some of these concept vehicles were already revealed by Nissan in digital form.
The Hyper Urban crossover was the first to be revealed. It features a sophisticated and modern styling, which creates a bold statement on the road. Its lime yellow body changes chromatic expressions depending on the angle that light strikes it.
Next to be revealed was the Hyper Adventure sports utility vehicle, which was designed for outdoor adventures and sustainable lifestyle. It comes with Nissan's e-4orce all-wheel-control system, ensuring a smooth and safe performance off the road.
Another concept vehicle that will be showcased is the Hyper Tourer minivan, which features an ultramodern interior and self-driving technology.
The Hyper Punk crossover, which is designed to establish a seamless connection between the virtual and physical worlds, will also be present at the event.
Suzuki
The Suzuki Swift Concept will make its world premiere at the event. This compact car will be equipped with a high-efficiency engine and advanced safety features such as dual sensor brake support, adaptive high beam system, and driver monitoring system.
Suzuki will also be bringing the eVX, the eWX, the e Every Concept at the event. The Suzuki Spacia and Spacia Custom Concept minicars will also make their global debuts.
Two new-energy models of the Suzuki Burgman scooter will also be presented at the auto show — an all-electric version called e-Burgman, and a hydrogen-powered version.
Subaru
The Subaru Sport Mobility Concept will headline the brand’s booth at the event. This BEV concept represents the evolution of the Subaru Sport values.
Subaru will also be displaying the Levorg Layback Limited EX, the all-electric Solterra, the Forester Special Edition, and the Crosstrek Limited.
Mazda
The MX-5 will be the star of Mazda’s booth at the Japan Mobility Show. The first-generation MX-5, the fourth-generation MX-5, a two-thirds, scale MX-5 model, and an MX-5 SeDV will also be displayed at the booth.
A new concept car will also be unveiled, representing the exhibit theme “The future created by the ‘love of cars.’”
Lexus
The luxury carmaker has announced that it will be displaying “future cars” in its Japan Mobility Show booth. While Lexus has not yet revealed what these models are, they released teaser images of a BEV that will be exhibited at the event.
Visitors will also be able to immerse themselves in a VR-exclusive setting so they can feel the personalized driving experience and improved quality of life that Lexus is committed to delivering.
Isuzu
Isuzu and UD Trucks will be having a joint exhibit at the event. Their product display will be grouped into three categories: Innovation for Earth, Innovation for Society, and Innovation for Life.
The Innovation for Earth category will include the Giga Fuel Cell heavy-duty truck and the ELF EV.
Meanwhile, the Innovation for Safety category will include the ELFmio light-duty truck and the Quon GW 6x4 and the Quester 6x4 heavy-duty trucks. Also featured in this section is the autonomous driving technology being developed by Isuzu.
Two new prototypes will be unveiled in the Innovation for Life category of Isuzu’s booth.
