Here’s what you can do with the upcoming Toyota Tamaraw

MANILA: Prior to its supposed official launch in the country within the year, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has immediately showcased the flexibility of the all-new Tamaraw.

During the recently-concluded Toyota Road Trek 17, the leading automotive distributor in the country shared several prototypes on how the utility vehicle — built on the IMV 0 platform — can be used.

Among them are the panel van body versions, which can haul passengers and cargo. Such options can be used in courier and public transport businesses as well as ambulances.

There’s also the closed van version Tamaraw that is designed for last-mile deliveries, which can be utilized to deliver agricultural products from farms to markets.

Those who own construction supply firms can take advantage of the Tamaraw’s dropside version to bring supplies to their yards or even to their customers.

Lastly, there’s a patrol van that can be used by those who “serve and protect.”

Unveiled in August 2023, next-generation Tamaraw was first unveiled locally during the company’s 35th-anniversary celebration. It was formally presented by no less than Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chairman Akio Toyoda. On the said event, the nameplate was seen in modern public utility vehicle and drift truck configurations.

TMP invested P4.4 billion for the assembly line of the next-generation Tamaraw inside the facility in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Further, the company is expected to share the model’s specifications and pricing in the latter part of the year.
