HKG reveals the H500 sedan concept ahead of its Beijing Motor Show debut
MANILA: The upcoming Beijing motor show is all set to witness a full reveal of the Kinetic Group's H500 hybrid concept on April 25. The HKG group has teased us with the Pininfarina-designed electric vehicle H500, which is considered as a smaller sedan sibling to the recently launched H600. The Hong-Kong based manufacturer has been very interested in the electric vehicle segment in the recent times.
The H500 sedan shares its platform and engine specifications with other HKG’s models like the H600, K550, K750 and the HK GT coupe. The EV will run on micro-turbine range-extender technology. Not much of a detail has been announced regarding the H500 and those are most likely to be out only at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. However, what we know is the powertrain technology that the sedan is going to use will offer driving ranges of up to 621 miles along with battery packs having life-spans of up to 50,000 charge cycles.
Going by the pictures that have been revealed, the H500 is a four-door sedan offering a good enough rear headroom, something like the BMW 3 series GT. The rear roofline of the electric vehicle extends further backwards, a tad more than what is usually seen in a sedan.
The body shape of the H500 sedan gives us an idea about the current vehicle trend in the Chinese automobile market which is favoring cars with large rear legroom and headroom.
Manufacturers like Jaguar and some other American counterparts have also been going in the same direction with its elongated sedans.
