Honda Cars PH names Rie Miyake as new president

MANILA: On March 28, 2023, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) staged a formal handover ceremony to present its new president at the Crimson Hotel in Alabang. Masahiko Nakamura, who will start a new position at Honda Vehicles Korea on April 1, 2023, will be replaced by Rie Miyake.

Miyake managed international markets, such as nations in North and South America, while holding several executive positions at Honda Motor Co Ltd's head office in Tokyo. She developed expertise in the export of parts, logistics, and business planning activities throughout the years. She most recently oversaw the Export Planning Division of Honda's global auto industry.

Miyake will be crucial to Honda's business growth, especially in guiding the organization toward carbon neutrality for all products and corporate operations. One of Honda’s corporate long-term goals is to achieve 100% electrification of autos by 2040.

“As we embark on this fresh journey, I want to assure you - the times may have changed so much, but Honda’s commitment as the power of dreams has only grown through the years. Please watch out for new technologies to be launched very soon, including e:HEV hybrid electric vehicle that doesn’t just have a hybrid emblem, it truly delivers. We will also continue to improve our sales and after-sales operations to give our customers more joy throughout their vehicle ownership,” said Miyake.

The occasion provided the outgoing president with a chance to express his appreciation for the help he received. Nakamura also voiced his faith in Miyake's ability to lead the organization to even greater heights of achievement and expansion.

“Thank you very much for your continued support to HCPI. The past three years have been challenging, but we also learned so many things. What I will remember more is how we all worked together and came out better than before. I am thankful for the dedication of Honda Associates and our business partners. We will continue to improve keeping in mind our purpose,” said Nakamura.
