Honda Civic 2016 Official Prices Revealed For Philippines
Update: It's time to grab your own Civic, the all-new Civic has been launched in Philippines.
MANILA: Despite of initial hiccups in the US market, Honda Civic 2016 is highly anticipated in the Philippines market. The new model might make its presence anytime in the Philippines and adding to the anxiety of interested buyers, a local dealer has also leaked the prices for the upcoming sedan. An image of the official Honda brochure containing the prices for the vehicle was recently posted online, which revealed the starting price of Civic 2016 to be PhP 1.1 million. It also revealed the price for the Turbocharged RS variant that stands at PhP 1.3 million. With the reservations for the vehicle already in place, the price leak certainly adds more variety to Honda’s marketing strategy for the latest Civic.
This move will certainly attract significant buyers attraction in a country like Philippines that absolutely loves its sedans. Although the introduction of larger sized hatchbacks and compact crossovers have affected the sales for the entry-level sedan across most regions in ASEAN, the demand for this segment remains fairly high in the Philippines. The new Civic 2016 has already been released in US, but was recalled for some problems related to its Turbocharged drivetrain and tarnished their chances of market revival.
Nevertheless with a high demand among the Filipino buyers for such type of vehicles, Honda isn’t leaving anything to chance and have carefully framed their plan to dominate Philippines sales this year. Specs for the vehicle have also been made public by the manufacturers and revealed the Honda Civic 2016’s drivetrain to be an 1.8-litre i VTEC engine and a 1.5-litre engine with a Turbocharger in the 2016 Civic RS Turbo. Apart from the changes in its powertrain, the new model is a major improvement on the older design and is presented with slightly larger exteriors. The buffed up body might be explained as Honda motor’s attempt to keep up with the invading hatchback segment, a territory that the Japanese automakers haven’t explored much yet.
