Toyota created a similar concept dubbed Miraidon Project.Per the Minato-headquartered Japanese mobility brand, the Honda Koraidon Project (which is run under the supervision of The Pokémon Company) will be on display at Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama from Friday (March 7) to Sunday (March 9).

Making ‘Dreams’ come true
Per Honda, the message of the project is “Adults’ Devotion Make Children’s Dreams Come True,” which appears to conveniently tie with its tagline — “The Power of Dreams.”
Some 40 engineers, who were recruited from Honda’s motorcycle and power products businesses and its Innovative Research Excellence division, worked on the concept and applied the design philosophy and simulation technology cultivated by the company’s motorcycle business over the years.

According to the website dedicated to the Honda Koraidon Project (which can be accessed, here), the marque revealed that the initiative to build a concept model based on the legendary pocket monster from the Pokémon Scarlet game started sometime last year.
Not much is said about its specifications at this moment but the manufacturer noted that “advanced balance control technology” — similar to that of the Honda Riding Assist — will be used in the concept.
While the photos released by Honda only show its silhouette, the Honda Koraidon Project website said that it was “intricately crafted” with the following features:
- Muscular torso
- Limbs
- Face
Miraidon Project
Toyota took on a similar project last year but with a Miraidon-inspired motorcycle-like sample.
Miraidon is Koraidon’s counterpart and is the legendary pocket monster in the Pokémon Violet (Pokémon Scarlet’s equivalent) game.

Developed by members of the Toyota Engineering Society, the Toyota Miraidon concept model has two modes. In low-power mode, it is seen with four articulating legs.

On the other hand, it appears to have a set of wheels when in drive mode.

It can be operated using Nintendo Switch joycons, The Pokémon Company said.

Some 30 people initially worked on the project, but the number ballooned to 300 by the end of the undertaking.
“Looking back over the period since the Toyota Miraidon Project was launched less than a year ago, especially memorable were the expressions of joy and accomplishment on the faces of all the engineers who participated — expressions similar to the joy and surprise of the children on seeing Toyota Miraidon,” The Pokémon Company said in a press release.
“Participating in this happy project demonstrated that even as adults, we can apply our skills and powers of imagination to creating the future, making dreams truly come true,” it added.
