Honda global production hits 1.5-M mark in May 2024 YTD

MANILA: Honda Motor Company Limited has produced a total of 1,594,004 cars worldwide in January-May 2024. 

From the brand's total production figure covering the first five months of 2024, 277,170 units were made in the brand’s home country. In other areas in world, the Minato-based automaker managed to assemble 1,316,834 vehicles. 

In May 2024 alone, the automotive company built 51,125 units in Japan and 253,298 units were manufactured from overseas facilities, for a total of 304,423  examples.

The leading region in terms of production, according to Honda, is North America, with 702,646 units constructed in 2024. Asia, on the other hand, enjoyed 581,423 units produced in the first five months of the year. 

In relation to the company’s sales performance in the Philippines, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reported that Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated sold 6,619 cars from January-May 2024. 

The manufacturer likewise reported a total of 38,389 exports from Japan from the start of 2024 to May. Within the same time frame, Europe brought in 24,830 Honda units, Asia with 1,844 units, North America with 2,128 units, and other regions with 9,587 units. 

Relatedly, the marque enjoyed a sales volume of 282,536 units in its home country during the first five months of 2024.
