Honda Philippines grabs three 2015 Car of the Year award in Popular segments
MANILA: Honda has achieved a milestone in the Philippines market this year. Honda is a well-known manufacturer of MPVs and compact crossovers in the automotive sector. In recent years, Honda emerged as a pioneer in innovating new technologies that can benefit the buyers. Car Awards Group, Inc. (CAGI) is a popular award giving body that conducted the 2015 car of the year Philippines. The vehicles go through all kinds of tests based on performance, engine, and response.
This year, Honda’s three vehicles including two MPVs and one compact SUV won CAGI’s 2015 Car of the year award. The All-New Mobilio won the best compact MPV and the HR-V won the Best Compact Crossover. Meanwhile, Odyssey won the Best Compact Luxury MPV. CAGI provides scores to the vehicles on the basis of their on-road performance, reliability, and driving dynamics. It also takes a close look on the handling, braking, and safety features in the car.
The All-New Mobilio is a 7-seater MPV which comes certified as per Euro 4 emission norms. It is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum power output of 120 PS at 6600 rpm and 145 Nm of peak torque at 4600 rpm. The engine is mated to either a 5-speed Manual Transmission or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Mobilio’s dashboard comes equipped with a 7-inch touch screen audio unit along with Garmin powered navigation system.
Honda HR-V is a new kind of compact crossover SUV that offers an array of modern features and driving facilities. It is powered by a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 141 PS at 6500 rpm and 172 Nm of peak torque at 4300 rpm. The engine comes paired with Earth Dreams Technology based Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The compact crossover also offers variety of safety features and it also received 5-star rating from the ASEAN NCAP.
Meanwhile, The All-New Odyssey got recognized with CAGI’s best luxury MPV of the year. It offers a generous cabin space and great fuel efficiency. Honda Odyssey is Honda’s first model in Philippines that comes with Earth Dreams Technology based Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) powered by a 2.4-litre, DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine. The dashboard comes installed with a seven-inch touch screen display with in-built navigation system.
