Honda Philippines Recall 2016, An Addition to its Takata Backlog
MANILA: Honda Philippines recall 2016 can rightly be tagged as the first auto recall of the year. The said Honda recall is not subjected to any ECU software malfunctioning, like the one witnessed by Honda in December 2015. So, like the most common recall reasons, this one is dedicated to the renowned Takata airbag issue.
If you are wondering how even after Honda Takata breakup, the Japanese automotive part supplier is still in the picture. Then we would like to inform you that the concerned Honda February 2016 recall is confined to 2011 -2014 models when Honda was in good trading terms with Takata. Well, until now no injuries or accidents are reported, thus, this recall is termed as a 'preventive measure campaign'. Another example where an automotive company is acting proactive and didn't wait for any mishap to happen.
The list of cars recalled this February include Honda City (2012 -2014), Honda Jazz (2012-2013) and Honda CR-V (2011). The same cars were also a part of Honda Philippines September 2015 recall, with different year models of course. Thus, showing that the whole Takata airbag fitted lot is defective, with recalls issued for each one of them, every now and then.
Well, the matter is proving quite embarrassing for Honda Philippines, as a company's market image is inversely proportional to its recall rate. But, on the positive side, Honda is taking full responsibility of the matter and even with no reported misfortunate event, it is calling the Takata fitted cars for check-ups.
Below we have attached the entire recalled vehicle list issued by Honda Philippines. And if your Honda car falls within the said bracket, then do visit the nearest Honda dealership today. According to the company, the whole process will not be a lengthy one and full care of its consumers’ precious time will be taken.
What to do if your car is recalled?
- First, confirm from the OEM issued list, whether or not your car is recalled. Never go by words.
- After you are sure about the car recall status, call the dealer and fix the earliest appointment.
- Reach on time and enquire about the repair status, time required and cost if any.
As for Honda, it has clearly mentioned in the recall PR that the whole process is free with no hidden cost. Also, the replacement of the defected airbag inflator will take not more than an hour.
