Huracan Evo Spyder is out roaring at 325 kmph
MANILA: Lamborghini pulled the covers off the all-new Huracan Evo not so long ago. Just as the Huracan Evo made its way to the markets across the globe, the automobile enthusiasts started waiting for a “topless” or shall we say a convertible variant of the car.
And the wait was fortunately very short as the Italian sports car maker has unveiled the Huracan Evo Spyder, the convertible model of the sports car.
While the world is waiting eagerly for the 2019 Geneva Motor Show to kick off, Lamborghini has already unveiled the Huracan Evo Spyder. Barring the fun of open-top driving, the Spyder model is more or less the same as Huracan Evo. Just like the Spyder deprived model, the topless sports car is also powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 mill which pumps out 640 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 600 Nm.
The power is delivered to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and there is also a locking rear differential. While the roof on the car has been removed, much heavier equipment of the retractable roof has increased the overall weight by 120-kg.
Compared to the 1,422-kg coupe, the convertible Huracan weighs 1,542-kg. With the increase in weight, a 0-100 kmph run on the Huracan Evo Spyder takes 3.1 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds more than the coupe. The top speed of the car, however, is still 325 kmph. But whether that is with or without the roof retracted, is not known.
The electric roof takes 17 seconds to retract, and this can be done at speeds of up to 50 kmph. If we take the electronic roof out of the equation, the outside of the Huracan Evo Spyder is identical to the coupe variant. The Huracan Evo Spyder is also very agile thanks to the electronically-adjustable dampers and Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI). The paint scheme used on the car is Verde Selvans, which is a four-layer green paint.
