Hyundai Elantra 2016 Launched in Philippines
MANILA: Hyundai Elantra 2016 is finally here in the Philippines. After its recent debut, the South Korean automaker decided to grace other parts of the world with its new creation. Hyundai Elantra is already present in our market and this revision is marked as its sixth-generation model that looks both upbeat and classy.

The launch event was held yesterday in Manila at the Sofitel Philippines Plaza, Pasay City. The said Hyundai Elantra Philippines massive launch was hosted by Hyundai Philippines official distributor HARL (Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc.). At the event were present high-profile and important officials and all seemed happy with this addition and are hoping to see all-around sales growth in the future. According to Hyundai, the new Elantra holds a sleek and dynamic appearance paired with distinguished performance figures.
Coming to all-new Elantra features, below we have listed all its attributes under specific heads -
Engine and Trim Levels
- The 2016 model will be available is three distinct trim levels: Top in line variant L, mid-level trim S, and the base level E version.
- The top L variant is powered by a Nu 2.0-liter MPi engine, generating a maximum power of 152 PS along with a peak torque of 192 Nm.
- Mid-level S variant is stapled with a Gamma 1.6-litre MPi mill that effortlessly gives away 130 PS of power and 157 Nm of torque.
- Base trim E mirrors the S variant and runs on the 1.6-liter engine producing same power and torque figures.
- L and S variant is coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission while the entry-level E trim comes in a 6-speed manual transmission system.
Exterior and Dimension
- All-new Elantra is built on the Hyundai's Fluid Sculpture 2.0 design language.
- It features a hexagonal grille with brand badging on the center, sharp pair of headlights, and restyled fog lamp case on the front.
- Side profile now holds a sloppier roof line, prominent wheel arches housing 16/17-inch alloy wheels and chrome door handles.
- The rear end gets extended tail lights, large bumper, and spoiler rear windshield.
- New Elantra now measures 4572 X 1801 X 1435 mm (lxwxh). It now gets 2700 mm of wheelbase ensuring ample leg room.
Interior Amenities
- Elantra's interior is highly inspired by Sonata and Genesis.
- It holds some high-quality material that is wrapped around on dashboard, door panels, and center tunnel.
- The three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel is handy and holds a number of utility functions.
- For occupants comfort, there is rear air-con vents and 4.2-inch TFT LCD display.
- The cabin area is quieter that before, thanks to NVH that now comes with re-engineered wipers and thick glass all over.
Safety
- Sixth-generation Elantra is constructed with 53% Advanced High-Strength Steel, keeping the passengers safe while collision
- Dual passenger and driver airbags are also present.
Price and Color Option of New Elantra
- Hyundai Philippines will start the sales of new Elantra from Q1 of 2017.
- Hyundai Elantra price will start from PhP 828,000.
- The car will be available in following color options: Fiery Red, Marina Blue, Platinum Silver, Polar White and Phantom Black
