Hyundai Grand Starex Cargo arrives with 1,224kg payload capacity

MANILA: Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) unveils the Hyundai Grand Starex Cargo. As a commercial vehicle version of the Grand Starex van, the Cargo features a dedicated cargo area instead of rear seats.

The cargo hold of the Grand Starex Cargo is able to carry 1,224 kilograms of payload, as claimed by the manufacturer. To access the rear, the Grand Starex Cargo is fitted with two swing rear doors and sliding doors on both sides of the vehicle. 

HARI suggests that the van can be used regular deliveries, or can be made into a mobile beauty salon or food van. 

To separate the driver and two passengers from the cargo, a metal partition is equipped on select variants of the Grand Starex Cargo. Other safety gear for select variants include anti-lock brakes and airbags for driver and passengers. 

Meanwhile, the Grand Starex Cargo's front-mounted engine design cuts down on noise, vibration, harshness and heat, and absorbs the impact in the event of a frontal collision. 

The Grand Starex Cargo is powered by a 2.5-liter Euro 4-compliant diesel engine, which is paired to a six-speed manual transmission. 

HARI will also include a five-year unlimited mileage warranty to every purchase of the van. 

"The Philippines is slowly catching on as seen in the growing presence of mobile coffee vans, mobile pet grooming vans, and even trunk parties for small themed events," HARI said in a release, pointing out the timely launch of the Grand Starex Cargo.
