Hyundai IONIQ decorated with Red Dot Design Award 2016

MANILA: Adding another feather to its cap, the South Korean automaker Hyundai has proudly received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for the sixth time in past 3 years. This international award is sponsored by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, Germany for communication design and product styling. The Red Dot Design Award 2016 is given to Hyundai IONIQ which is already a leading car in its segment with stunning styling to die for and cutting-edge technology too for never ending thrill and excitement. Impressing the committee with its outstanding design, Hyundai IONIQ is now the sixth car by the company to earn this coveted badge to flaunt with its label.

Winning the attention of 38 experts from 25 countries across the globe, the new IONIQ has left an exceptional impression on them to win this award. These experts belonged to assorted fields like – designing, journalism and education, and hold proficiency and in-depth knowledge to assess the nominated cars on various aspects. You can have an idea of the competition involved with a total 5214 nominations received by the jury from 57 countries. Prior to Hyundai IONIQ, New-Gen Hyundai i20 Coupe, All-New Sonata and New-Gen i20 5-door received this award in the year 2015 in the 'Outstanding Design' category and New-Gen i10 and All-New Genesis in the year 2014. Apart from 2016 Red Dot Design Award, Hyundai Elantra and Tucson 2016 are honored with iF Design Award in February 2016. This marks a good beginning for Hyundai with lots of accolades already in its bag.

Talking more about Hyundai IONIQ, this is the first eco-friendly drive by any automaker which is offered with a choice of 3 alternative powertrains, viz, fully electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid.
