Hyundai Tucson 2016 Earns Five-Star Euro NCAP Rating
MANILA: The not so old SUV, Hyundai Tucson 2016 has earned a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating. It scored 86% rating in terms of safety for its adult occupants while for child occupants, the percentage is 85. “The All-New Tucson introduces a wide array of new safety technologies, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, at an accessible price,” commented the COO of Hyundai Motor Europe, Thomas Schmid. “The five-star rating from Euro NCAP is further evidence that quality and safety are built into our new cars,” he added.
This Hyundai 2016 has scored a 71% rating in both the pedestrian safety and 'Safety assist' category. For this particular test, 1.7-litre diesel engine equipped Tucson was used while the Euro NCAP has mentioned that this score stand for all variants powered by either diesel or petrol engines.
The bunch of safety features which contributed to Tucson's five-star score are Speed Limit Information Function, Lane Keeping Assist System, Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking system, Blind Spot Detector, and Vehicle Stability Management. The above average pedestrian safety rating can be attributed to the Active Hood System – which is a standard in all Tucson.
