Hyundai unveils the Exter, potential Toyota Raize rival
MANILA: A few weeks ago, Hyundai released a drawing of the front fascia as a teaser for their next SUV. Today, Hyundai has released further information about their new crossover for the A-segment. The boxy 2023 Hyundai Exter, which is smaller than the Hyundai Creta, is a new addition to Hyundai's roster of SUVs. The Exter, a crossover that will be sold in India, fits in perfectly with the A-Segment.

The H-shaped daytime running lights and the black grille that surrounds the front of the car are the first of these design elements. The actual headlamps of the 2023 Hyundai Exter flank the sides of the bumper and are inserted within the grille in black.
The Exter has black fender flares at the sides that appear to link to trim pieces underneath the door and wrap around the entire vehicle. The Exter's geometric-style alloy wheels continue the boxy styling of the vehicle.
Specifications for the Exter are also available, in addition to these pictures. Hyundai claims that the Exter will be powered by an internal-combustion engine with a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine option. A 1.2-liter, four-cylinder normally aspirated engine powers the systems. A five-speed manual transmission or an automatic manual transmission (AMT) is used to drive the front wheels of the gas-powered version, which has 81 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque. The CNG variant, however, only has a manual transmission and is only capable of producing 68 horsepower and 95 Nm of torque.
The Hyundai Exter will only be available in the Indian market for the time being. The formal Exter launch and a full set of specifications are scheduled for about July 2023. Hyundai Philippines stays mum about its potential release in the local market to take on the likes of the Toyota Raize or even the Kia Stonic.
