ICE-powered Audi Q8 now in PH

MANILA: The Audi Q8’s internal-combustion-engine-powered version is now available at showrooms in the Philippines, the brand’s local arm shared.

In a statement, Audi Philippines claimed that the flagship combustion model of the Q range furthers the standards in the premium full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) category.

“Richly equipped, comprehensively safe and tough enough for any terrain, the Audi Q8 continues to raise the standards in its segment by providing the versatility of a large SUV and the expressive design of a four-door luxury coupe,” the company noted.

Outside the Q8 is an octagonal Singleframe grille, distinctive headlights, coupe-style roof line, frameless doors and muscular quattro blisters reminiscent of those found on the original Audi Quattro. It sits on 21-inch graphite gray alloy wheels with a five-arm star design.

It also has a bold front end, short rear overhang, high ground clearance and large wheels that clearly depicts its capabilities.

For its cabin, the Audi Q8 boasts class-leading interior space with its nearly three-meter wheelbase — complementing its host of amenities, various luggage configurations, state-of-the-art operating and suspension technologies, and intelligent safety systems.

Occupants are to be greeted by the upper 10.1-inch screen that controls the infotainment and the navigation system and a lower 8.6 display to access ventilation, air-conditioning and comfort functions, as well as text input offer haptic and acoustic feedback.

Powering the Audi Q8 is a turbocharged, 3.0-liter, six-cylinder TFSI gasoline engine that produces 340 horsepower and 500 Newton-meters of torque. Output is delivered to the quattro all-wheel drive system by an eight-speed tiptronic transmission.

Other standard features that can be found in the Audi Q8 include adaptive air suspension with damper control, and the Audi drive select dynamic handling feature.

The Q8 is one of the models in Audi’s SUV lineup that was able to secure the latest Top Safety Pick+ certification from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — awarded with the highest rating for its standard front crash prevention systems after earning an “advanced” score in both the daytime and nighttime pedestrian tests, as well as for its standard crash avoidance systems that received “superior” and “advanced” scores.

The 2024 Q8 is available at Audi dealerships in Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, Westgate, Alabang, and SM City Seaside Cebu.
