IIHS awards Top Safety Pick+ ratings to Audi Q4 e-tron, Q4 Sportback e-tron

MANILA: The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron and the 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron have received the 2022 Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the electric midsize luxury SUV category. These are the newest additions to the e-tron lineup, making Audi the brand with the most number of fully electric vehicle models available.

In order to receive the Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must have good ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, original side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. There must also be an available front crash prevention system that receives advanced or superior ratings in both vehicle-to-vehicle and daytime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. All trims must also come standard with good or acceptable headlights in order to obtain a Top Safety Pick+ award.

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron lineup is introduced to the market with the goal of facilitating a smooth transition to electric vehicle ownership and making it easier than ever to purchase a fully electric Audi.

The 2023 Audi Q4 40 e-tron, a rear-wheel drive model, has an EPA-estimated range of up to 426km.

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron lineup prioritizes comfort, functionality, and cutting-edge technology. These practical and advanced Audi models are now available in the US as the brand’s most affordable luxury electric vehicles. The vehicle’s striking looks reflects the owner’s distinctive taste. Its sporty appearance is reinforced by imposing muscular surfaces, which are complemented by elevated interior seating positions that not only provide a spacious cabin but also a wide view of the surroundings.

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron lineup can accommodate up to five people. It also offers ample storage for daily items, as seen in the specially designed water bottle storage holder. The quattro models have an available towing up to 2,650lbs. When the rear seatbacks are raised, the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron’s capacity is 24.8 cubic feet, and when they are lowered, it is 53.1 cubic feet. The 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, on the other hand, has 26.1 cubic feet of storage with the rear seatbacks up and 54.4 cubic feet with them down, comparable to that of the popular Audi Q5.

The 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron and the 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron come standard with the S line exterior.

Matrix-design headlights with digital daytime running lights are also available as an option for the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron lineup. These also include customizable light signatures and animation for both the headlights and taillights.

On the inside, the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron is equipped with an 11.6-inch center MMI touch display. There is also an available augmented reality head-up display that provides clear projections of the navigation system’s directional cues, start points, and destination end points. Navigating unfamiliar roads is made easier by these floating navigational cues that are visible 33 feet from the driver.

The 2023 Audi Q4 40 e-tron is powered by a permanently excited synchronous electric motor on the rear axle generating 201 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 2023 Audi Q4 50 e-tron and the 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback 50 e-tron are driven by an asynchronous motor in the front and a permanently excited synchronous electric motor in the rear, producing 295 horsepower.

Using a 150kW DC fast charger, the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron models can be charged from 5% to 80% in approximately 36 minutes.

A number of standard safety and driving assistance features are offered, such as Audi pre sense, Audi side assist with rear cross traffic assist, and lane departure warning systems. These features are developed to give drivers and passengers another reason to switch to electric vehicles with confidence and ease. They also work in conjunction with a robust battery structure.

Pricing for the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron starts at $48,800 (approximately P2.8 million), while the 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron starts at $56,800 (approximately P3.3 million).

Prior to the 2023 Audi Q4 e-tron and the 2023 Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, the more sophisticated Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback have already received 2022 Top Safety Pick+ awards.
