JAC Motors PH distributorship now under Astara

MANILA: Astara Philippines has been appointed as the new distributor of JAC (Jianghuai Automobile Group Company) vehicles in the country.

In a statement, Astara Philippines said that the newly-forged collaboration with the Chinese automotive manufacturer serves as the first cooperation between the brands anywhere in the world.

With the cooperation, Astara Philippines is carrying a total of four brands in the market with the three others being Peugeot, GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor Company), and JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation).

“This agreement brings JAC’s wide range of SUVs and pick-up models to the fast-growing market, meeting the evolving needs of the Filipino consumers and commercial customers,” the company explained, adding that the brand will launch electrified models (in plug-in hybrid or purely electric options) — with the aim of establishing itself as the market’s benchmark.

Considering this region is pivotal to our international expansion, we are confident in showcasing our capabilities through JAC’s distribution,” Astara Chief Executive Officer Jorge Navea said.

For his part, JAC Motors Vice President David Zhang shared that the Philippines is of extraordinary strategic and practical significance.

“In the future, JAC will strictly adhere to the ‘user-centric’ business philosophy and bolster the relationship with Astara to provide better products and better service experience for Filipino users,” he added.
