JAC Ytterby launched in PH, price starts at P1.195-M

MANILA: JAC Philippines has launched the Ytterby.

The electric hatchback made its debut at the Manila International Show 2024, and since then stirred up the segment thanks to its classy looks and promising performance.

It is currently sold in two variants — 405 Air and 505 Lux Pro — with a price tag that ranges from P1.195 million to P1.320 million.

“The launch of the All-New Ytterby is timely as EVs (electric vehicles) steadily become more mainstream in the Philippines because of their ability to provide clean and cost-efficient mobility,” JAC Philippines Brand Head Tonette Lee said.

“With the launch of the All-New Ytterby, leading edge does not have to mean out of reach, with all its technology and features, this vehicle is surprisingly accessible. This stylish and practical EV complements our lineup of attractive and value-packed models that we believe every Filipino deserves,” she added.

Exterior

Outside, the JAC Ytterby boasts a clean-looking fascia with rounded LED headlamps with daytime running lights and a grille with horizontal slats. Its fore presents a friendly attitude that could make it a hit among women as well as those who want a fun-looking daily driver.

The side profile of the compact hatchback features a two-tone design with the roof, along with the pillars and the side mirrors, sporting a black hue. From the shoulder down, a variety of pastel-colored finishes — which we have listed below — can be applied to the vehicle.

It rides on wheels that have a modern design. A portion of the tri-color petal wheel shares the same color as the body of the JAC Ytterby. Also notable are its flush door handles and seamless body lines.

Depending on the variant the vehicle could ride in 16-inch aluminum alloy tires (405 Air) or 17-inch aluminum alloy tires (505 Lux Pro). Both are wrapped in 205/55 series tires.

The back end of the JAC Ytterby gets a roof-mounted spoiler with a third brake lamp, combination taillamps, and two fog lamps.

Interior

The cabin of the JAC Ytterby boasts a leather steering wheel with multi-functional controls.It also has leather seats, a 6.2-inch digital instrument panel, and a smart air conditioning system with an automatic heat pump as well as a PM 2.5 and pollen filtration system.

It also gets a wireless charging dock, 64-color ambient lighting, and a slew of USB ports.

Buyers who will get the base variant can expect the JAC Ytterby to come with a 12.8-inch floating infotainment system, six speakers, and a black-colored interior.

Meanwhile, those opting for the range-topping trim will get a larger 15.6-inch screen, eight speakers, and a cabin with black and coco brown accents.

Both infotainment systems have Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Power

The JAC Ytterby, according to the Astara-led brand, is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor juiced by a 41 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery for the 405 Air or a 51.5 kWh battery for the 505 Lux Pro.

While both have a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and liquid cooling technology, the former makes 94 horsepower (hp) and 135 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the latter puts out 134 hp with 175 Nm of pulling power.

They also differ when it comes to range as the base model can offer would-be owners up to 405 kilometers (km) of emissions-free driving while the top-of-the-line variant extends the running capacity up to 505 km.

Bringing the compact EV hatchback to a halt are ventilated disc brakes at the front and solid disc brakes at the rear.

The JAC Ytterby 405 Air gets a reverse camera while the 505 Lux Pro is fitted with a 360-degree panoramic camera and a 540-degree transparent chassis mode.

The JAC Ytterby was launched today at the brand’s dealership in Pasig. Managed by the Autohub Group of companies, it is located on E. Rodriguez Junior Avenue corner Jose Cruz Street in Barangay Barrio Ugong.
