Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016 Found Guilty For Having Faulty Wiring Harness Terminal
MANILA: Looks like it's a year dedicated to recalls. Well, at least as many as 5 major recalls by different auto brands over various issues made in past 4 months support our statement. The latest to join the list is the American automaker which is well known for ruling the hearts of adventure loving auto freaks. Yes, you guessed it right, we are talking about Jeep! The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been found guilty of having faulty wiring harness terminal which can further affect the electrical connections. The company has identified as many as 37,372 cars which carry this fault within. This recall is restricted to the U.S. territory only for now and as the Philippines automotive market is not at all affected but a note of caution has been issued.
Identify and Report
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has already pinpointed more than 37,000 Grand Cherokees which fall under the recall session. According to the Jeep officials, out of the total, as many as 32,267 vehicles are registered in the U.S. while 2,096 have been registered under Canada jurisdiction. Also, 538 vehicles have been sold in Mexico and the rest of 2,472 elsewhere. If you are also experiencing the same problem while driving your Grand Cherokee 2016, you can identify and report it through the dedicated FCA's Customer Care helpline 1-800-853-1403.
The Flaw
The fault is rooted deep inside in selected wiring harness terminals which are probably not crimped properly. This flaw may result in loose electrical connection which can further affect the SUV's shifter and lock it. If your car is counted by the manufacturer within these 37,372 cars, you might be experiencing a problem in shifting gears and sometimes must have found the shifter locked in 'neutral' or 'park' when your Grand Cherokee comes to a stop.
The Rectification
The company has already started the recall process in which the first step is to figure out the exact number of cars which may have this flaw. The next step which has already been in the progress state is to issue a recall notice to all the owners of the faulty Jeep Grand Cherokee 2016. With the recall notice, the company has also assured that the process is taken on priority and they will rectify the problem as soon as possible. The customers can get their Grand Cherokee services on company's expense at the authorized Jeep service center after showing the email from the company.
Other Major Recalls of The Year
There is a whole long list of recalls which made this year a mixed one for many. The first recall of the year was made by Toyota for missing out on Takata airbags in the U.S. spec drives. A similar fault was identified by Honda in March and had to recall as many as 19,624 units of various models in the Philippines. The recall era was followed by Maserati for improper floor mats and Mitsubishi for Takata airbags. The latest recall was recorded by Chrysler for faulty brake caliper and now Jeep has made it to the list.
