Lamborghini bullish on new model launch this July 8
MANILA: Lamborghini just made lofty statements in its teaser for an upcoming model that’s set to be unveiled on July 8, 6 p.m. CEST (12 a.m. Philippine time).
There aren’t a lot of clues in the teaser poster except for the phrases “ahead of its time” and “newest creation.”
Speculation is rampant from various outlets but not one claims to have a more concrete handle on which model among a couple of possibilities will be unveiled.
If “ahead of its time” is what the "guesstimate" is hinging on, the most probable model would be the automaker’s first electrified vehicle, the Sian FKP 37. This hybrid super sports roadster uses a 6.5-liter V12 with 774hp and a 34hp electric motor that uses a super capacitor that is three times more powerful than a battery. Combined output is expected to be 808hp, which will allow it to go from zero to 100kph in less than 2.8 seconds all the way to a top speed of over 350kph.
When it comes to “newest creation,” that’s most probably the SCV12, which was teased in May 2020. This is a track-only RWD (rear-wheel-drive) hypercar with a 6.5-liter V12 engine putting out some 819hp. It uses a six-speed gearbox that also works as a structural element for the chassis.
Lamborghini currently has three models in the market. The Aventador S coupe and roadster; the Huracan coupe and spyder (all-whee drive), a RWD coupe and spyder, and a track-tuned Performante coupe and spyder trim; and the Urus SUV.
