Lamborghini looks back on successful 2022

MANILA: The year 2022 just concluded year for Automobili Lamborghini, and it was jam-packed with achievements and honors that symbolize the company's constant expansion. This growth is the product of a plan and strategy that, according to the most recent data, is working well, the Italian marque said.

Following the unavoidable effects of the epidemic, which had a significant influence on almost every business, Lamborghini continues to affirm favorable developments. The company has maintained an exceptional growth over the past two years, not only in terms of sales but also in terms of accolades and certificates — which show Lamborghini's dedication to the different settings in which it operates, from sustainability to human resources.

In terms of numbers, Automobili Lamborghini continues to break records and also for 2022 saw the best sales figures ever. In fact, the company delivered 9,233 cars worldwide, an increase of 10% over the previous year.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, remarked: “Our trend of growth and development continues, and this shows that our direction is sound and our choices are on the mark. This is the product of well-defined collective assessments that can produce consistent and concrete results. We have been able to carefully and meticulously manage an extraordinary order intake, pursuing a clear strategy with the primary objective of maintaining controlled growth to protect the exclusivity of our brand.

[The year> 2023 is going to be a year of challenges and changes that we are ready to confront by always pushing ourselves beyond. We now have the opportunity to focus on our next objectives also thanks to an 18-month waiting list, which enables us to look to the future and the upcoming goals with confidence.”

The first Lamborghini hybrid vehicles will be produced in 2023 and Lamborghini enters the second phase of its Direzione Cor Tauri program. It is a strategic roadmap unveiled in 2021 that involves the highest-ever investment in the history of the company (1.8 billion euros over five years) — delivering the hybrid transition and then the transition to fully-electric vehicles — this trajectory in the program will accelerate even more.

In all macro-regions the sign was clearly positive, maintaining a homogeneous and consistent distribution, with Asia registering an increase of 14%, followed by America with 10% and finally EMEA with 7% compared to 2021. Sales, in almost all key markets, broke all records. This was also thanks to the high reputation Lamborghini enjoys internationally, with the number of dealers increasing from 173 to 180 in just one year and with a presence in 53 different countries.

The United States continues to lead the pack with 2,721 cars delivered, up 10% from the previous year. China Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau come in second with 1,018 cars delivered, up 9% from the year before. Germany comes in third with 808 cars delivered, up 14% from the year before. The United Kingdom comes in fourth with 650 cars delivered, up 15% from the year before. Japan comes in second with 546 cars delivered, up 22% from the year before.

The 2022 Lamborghini Urus Super SUV has proven to be a popular model (5,367 units have been delivered, up 7% from 2021), and it is followed by the impressive growth of the 2022 Lamborghini Huracán (3,113 units have been delivered, up 20% from 2021), and the Aventador with 753 units delivered, which will mark the end of its production in September 2022.

Kicking off a year full of product news in 2022 was the debut of the 2022 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, which consolidates the degree of knowledge Lamborghini has attained in the field of design and engineering. The V10-powered rear-wheel drive car condenses the joy and driving dynamics of a Huracán STO into a new, leaner design appropriate for everyday usage with the inclusion of aerodynamic modifications targeted at increasing performance, stability and ease of use on both road and track.

Later in 2022, the 2022 Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, the first super sports car created to provide the utmost driving enjoyment outside of ordinary roads on loose conditions, was unveiled in another V10 event in November.

With the introduction of two brand-new variants last year, the Urus Super SUV also experienced significant growth. The 2022 Lamborghini Urus Performante, which emphasizes sportiness and performance by focusing on a design that demonstrates its extraordinary potential on the road, on the track, and on loose surfaces, was introduced by the automaker at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in California in August. With 666 horsepower and a weight loss of 47 kg, the new Super SUV has the best weight-to-power ratio in its class of 3.2.

The 2022 Lamborghini Urus Performante also broke the record for a production SUV on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb track, setting the best time ever with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 3.3 seconds and a 100 to 0 km/h braking distance of 32.9 meters.

Considered to be the most recent Urus successor, the 2022 Lamborghini Urus S, was released to the public in September 2022. The Urus S offers more power mixed with exceptional adaptability and style, solidifying the Super SUV idea in the premium automobile sector. Its twin-turbo V8 engine produces 666 horsepower, matching the Performante's output, but with more sophisticated design improvements and a wider range of wheel colors and finishes, style packages, and interior and exterior accents.

The House of Sant'Agata also saw significant success in the past year in terms of the honors it was given. The Italy Top Employer award, which was received for the ninth year in a row and attests to the greatest corporate welfare practices that have been pushed for years by putting people at the center of the business, is one of the most important recognitions that concern employees and HR activity.

Lmborghini also had the great joy of having won the "Green Star Award," which honors the business's dedication to sustainability, for the second year in a row.
