Lamborghini starts electrification campaign in PH with Revuelto introduction

MANILA: Lamborghini Manila has launched the Revuelto nameplate in the Philippines.

Serving as the brand’s first-ever super sports hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), the model’s introduction in the country marked the start of Lamborghini’s electrification thrust locally.

 “Revuelto represents a significant milestone in the history of Lamborghini and an important pillar in our Direzione Cor Tauri electrification strategy. This iconic V12 HPEV delivers performance with its exceptional dynamism of electric torque vectoring and permanent four-wheel drive, ensuring the Revuelto expresses its amplified qualities both on track and in daily driving,” Automobili Lamborghini Asia-Pacific Region Director Francesco Scardaoni said.

“We are thrilled to present the Revuelto, our super sports V12 hybrid plug-in flagship that creates the perfect balance between enhanced driving emotions and reducing emissions to Lamborghini’s customers and fans in the Philippines,” he added.

Powertrain

The vehicle’s highlight is its powertrain: a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 mid-mounted engine with three electric motors (one of which is linked into the new double-clutch eight-speed gearbox).  The electric portion is paired with a 4,500 watts per kilogram lithium-ion high-specific power battery.

Such a mill set-up (which has seven drive modes namely Recharge, Hybrid, Performance, Città, Strada, Sport, and Corsa) delivers 1,000 horsepower allows the vehicle to accelerate 100 kilometers per hour (kph) from rest in less than three seconds, hit 200 kph in less than seven; and reach a peak speed of more than 350 kph.

In addition, the powertrain features electric torque vectoring and four-wheel drive available in fully-electric drive mode.

Meanwhile, stopping power comes from the latest generation Carbon Ceramic Brakes Plus (10-piston front, and four-piston rear) system.

Design

While maintaining the brand’s DNA, the Lamborghini Revuelto establishes a completely new styling.

It retained it the brand’s vertically-opening scissor doors, the Diablo’s proportions, and the Murciélago’s beefy and inclined front but has launched the new Space Race design language — providing aerospace-inspired elements, as expressed by the two-lined sculpted surfaces in the front, cabin and engine.

It wears a monolithic carbon-fiber hood, headlamp clusters with Y-shape daytime running lights framed by aerodynamic blades that connect the splitter to the hood.

The Lamborghini Revuelto’s fully-exposed longitudinal engine  in the middle is directly connected to the hexagonal-shaped exhausts.

Further, the Lamborghini Revuelto sits on bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires with run-flat technology.

Inside, the car’s cabin houses a pronounced carbon-fiber profile, with a “space-ship” design that encloses the central air vents, and three digital displays (12.3-inch instrument cluster, 8.4-inch central display, and a 9.1-inch display).

It is also equipped with a steering wheel similar to the Essenza SCV12 — with the four rotors located on the spokes dedicated for selecting driving modes as well as the car’s lifting system and rear wing tilt.

Its upholstery combines leather with Corsa-Tex fabric in Dinamica microfiber, made of recycled polyester via a water-based production process. Customers can have the interior customized by opting for a balanced mix of leather and Corsa-Tex, or favor one material depending on his preference, with 70 color options available. 

Compared to the Aventador Ultimae, the Lamborghini Revuelto has 26 millimeters (mm) more headroom and 84 mm more legroom.

Technology, options

The vehicle is Amazon Alexa-ready and has an integrated over-the-air software update system.

Among the driver assistive technologies outfitted in the Lamborghini Revuelto are the active lane departure warning, lane change warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert.

According to the Raging Bull marque, the Lamborghini Revuelto is a production Lamborghini model that offers the most potential for personalization — including 400 color options (all water- based instead of the usual solvent-based).
