Lexus PH looks back on 13 years

MANILA: Lexus Philippines is celebrating its 13th year in the country today. To mark the occasion, the company looks back on the products and customer buying experience it has introduced since 2009. 

At the heart of the Lexus commitment to the premium customer experience is the Lexus Manila showroom, which is located in Bonifacio Global City and opened in 2009, as well.

Lexus boasts its BGC dealership as an "architectural and interior-design statement," featuring a Zen garden interior with natural landscaping — a design feature never before seen in local premium car dealerships. 

Meanwhile, Lexus Philippines anticipates the needs of clients in line with a Japanese philosophy of omotenashi. Alongside the stylish showroom, Lexus Philippines' after-sales service also comes with dedicated receiving and turnover bays. 

As for vehicles,  Lexus Philippines initially introduced six products in 2009: The LS luxury flagship sedan; the ES midsize sedan; the RX midsize luxury SUV; the LX flagship luxury SUV; the sporty IS compact sedan; and the GS midsize sedan.

More models were launched in 2011, including the CT hatchback. The CT is claimed to be among the first luxury models to be sold locally with a hybrid drivetrain. The GX luxury SUV made its local debut this year as well.

An exciting year for Lexus was 2012, when it presented the LFA supercar. The Japanese supercar that was taking the global stage featured a 4.8-liter V10. At the same time, the GS wore the carmaker's signature design detail called "Spindle Grille," which is now seen in current Lexus cars. 

In 2014, the RC and its performance-oriented RC F sibling arrived, "injecting the market with excitement and performance that only RWD coupes could bring." The same year saw the arrival of the NX compact luxury SUV, as well.

The GS F performance sedan followed in 2015, and the LC coupe in 2017. Lexus said the LC carried a stylish look that is not too dissimilar from the concept car. 

The UX compact luxury crossover arrived in 2018, giving first-time customers a more accessible model" packed with the features and craftsmanship expected from Lexus." In 2020, the LM luxury van was introduced, and is now fast becoming a best-seller. 

In a release, Lexus Philippines said it aims to tailor to the demands of its customers. "They respect the finer points in the competitive sport of golf; the subtle nuances of fine art and industrial design; and they savor culinary delights prepared by world-class chefs," the company described its clientele. 

"Customers can expect a future-focused road ahead with Lexus prioritizing personalization, innovation, hybrid vehicles, and crafted experiences," the company concluded.
