The special RZ 450e can be had only in Japan by joining a purchase lottery, which will run until February 19, 2024.The Lexus LBX RR Morizo Concept, Toyota’s luxury division pointed out, was designed with the aim of retaining high-quality driving performance and sophisticated design that is unique to the brand. At the same time, the goal was to allow the driver to enjoy interacting with the car, smile spontaneously, and experience a sense of extraordinary exhilaration.
Powering the Lexus LBX RR Morizo Concept is its first 1.6-liter, inline three-cylinder engine with intercooler and turbo, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission as well as a full-time all-wheel drive drivetrain.
Complementing the luxury compact vehicle’s powertrain setup are tuned suspensions, performance tires, and an aerodynamic body. Speaking of which, the exterior of the Lexus LBX RR Morizo Concept is finished with Morizo’s signature yellow color. This special hue can be found on the vehicle’s “Unified Spindle” grille, brake calipers, and seatbelts.
Meanwhile, the Lexus RZ 450e Special Edition “F Sport Performance” car is a ride that showcases the driving pleasure and customization that only a BEV can offer.
The special-edition BEV, the brand pointed out, was created to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society and to pursue the fun of driving.
To that end, Lexus — during the RZ 450e Special Edition’s development — teamed up with air racing pilot Yoshihide Muroya and racing driver Masahiro Sasaki to hone the model’s aerodynamics and driving performance and to pursue a design rooted in function.
Only a limited number of the special RZ 450e will be made available for the brand’s customers. Only available in Japan, those who want to get their hands on the exclusive compact car need to join a purchasing lottery, which will run until February 19, 2024.
“Developed as Lexus' first BEV-dedicated model, the RZ embodies through electrification technology Lexus-unique driving signature and styling, marking the starting point of Lexus' transformation into a BEV brand. Since the launch of the all-wheel-drive RZ 450e in March 2023, and with the introduction of the front-wheel-drive RZ 300e in November 2023, Lexus has been expanding its BEV lineup to meet diverse customer needs,” the company wrote in a press release.
