Lexus uncovers the LBX, brand's small crossover for the younger audience

MANILA: The LBX, also known as Lexus Breakthrough Crossover, serves as a fresh entry point to the brand's well-established SUV lineup. The compact SUV will cater to the European market.

It offers significant appeal to a younger audience and those who may not have previously considered a Lexus. For those looking to downsize or buy a second car that fits their new lifestyle needs, it will be an alluring prospect.

By abandoning the conventional grade method and allowing owners more leeway to express their unique tastes and sense of style, it also pioneers new territory. In addition to its base grade, the 2023 Lexus LBX will be available in a selection of four "atmospheres".

Along with the base grade, there are two other grades: Elegant and Relax, which emphasize a refined vibe, and Emotion and Cool, which offer a sportier, more dynamic vibe. These environments have a greater emphasis on conveying various sophisticated, energetic, or sporty themes through styling details, colors, textures, and finishes rather than being defined by the level of equipment or comfort amenities.

The dimensions of the 2023 Lexus LBX are 4.190 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width, 1.5 meters in height, and 2.5 meters in wheelbase. The LBX's efficiency, stability, and responsive performance are a result of its accurate light cluster designs, low-slung bonnet, belt moldings flush with the body, gate-style rear roof spoiler, and enhanced aerodynamic performance.

The GA-B compact car global architecture platform underpins the LBX. It has undergone significant modifications to match Lexus specifications, giving it the primary advantages of a low center of gravity, broad tracks, minimal overhangs, and a very stiff body. It also forms the basis of the vehicle's engaging driving personality, which aids in keeping the Lexus Driving Signature in its simplest possible form.

A brand-new generation, self-charging Lexus hybrid electric system with a small and light 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine powers the LBX. Hybrid System Control, which closely mimics engine sound and acceleration, also improves maneuverability. The LBX's efficiency is increased by the hybrid system modifications, which allow for all-electric EV travel at faster speeds and farther distances.

The Lexus E-Four all-wheel drive option, which adds a second electric motor to the back axle, is one of the LBX's authentic SUV features. The technology automatically distributes drive force to the rear wheels during acceleration, cornering, and driving on roads with low grip, assisting in preserving vehicle stability and driving confidence.

The interior of a Lexus was designed to have a clean, sophisticated feel that evokes the mood and feel of a higher category car. This effect is based on three essential components: the feeling of a spacious interior; a center console with a dominating presence; and good visibility with an open look out and a simple, smooth instrument panel.
