Lionel Messi, Tata's Next Global Brand Ambassador
MANILA: Indian auto giant Tata Motors have roped the soccer ace Lionel Messi as their next brand ambassador. It is for the first time Tata has undergone such an association to promote its cars. The geek god of football is assigned to endorse Tata's car in India as well as internationally. For now the portfolio will last for two straight years, with an option to extend it further if things work to fine between the two.
Both the player and auto maker are excited about the new venture. At the formal event, Messi expressed his happiness saying, “Namaste India. I am very excited about my first association with an Indian brand. I have always been fascinated by India and have heard such great things about this diverse country. I was once in India with the Argentinian national team and I hope to visit it again. It is important to believe in yourself and keep pushing to achieve success, and this is what the campaign stands for. I hope together we are able to inspire many more”.
Tata Motor also initiated a new campaign #madeofgreat helping it boost its passenger vehicle business further. According to the company, this idea emerged from the thought of 'what drives us from within is what makes us great'. Mayank Pareek, President Tata Passenger Vehicle Business said, “He is talent galore with conviction and is an icon for today’s youth. Watching him play football is magical. As we look to expand our footprint across the globe, Messi’s unique ability to appeal globally, transcending geographies, makes him the ideal person to represent our brand internationally”.
Though, it is celebration time in the Tata house with its month-on-month sales hike and we are sure that with Messi stepping in the sales chart will continue to strike new records. Making the Indian-born auto king bigger and better with time.
