Lotus Emeya combines brand's traditional design elements with progressive technologies

MANILA: Lotus has revealed the design features of the Emeya, its first-ever four-door all-electric hyper GT.

The brand's newest model, which made its global debut in the United States last month, took inspiration from 75 years of Lotus performance car DNA while also symbolizing its evolution.

Emeya is designed with a clean front end, with ultra-slim and sharp LED daytime running lights and headlights almost concealed in the aperture underneath.

On the rear, the Emeya features the slimmest RGB dynamic LED rear light bar ever seen on a production car.

Inside, a blade of light surrounds the cabin. Repurposed fibers and premium materials were also applied in the Emeya's interior.

The cabin is made more elegant by applying knurled metal on all touchpoints, while Lotus' racing legacy is represented by the exposed carbon fiber elements.

A combination of traditional and modern methods were used to design the Emeya. The car was designed physically, then polished digitally.

"By combining progressive technologies with an aesthetic that draws from the past, Emeya takes us into the future, projecting Lotus into a new segment of the automotive landscape," Lotus Vice President of Design Ben Payne stated.

During the world premiere of the Emeya, it was revealed that it is driven by a high-power dual motor set-up that produces 905 horsepower and 985 Newton-meters of torque. The Emeya has a top speed of more than 250 kilometers per hour (kph) and can sprint from a standstill to 100 kph in less than 2.8 seconds.

More details on the Lotus Emeya will be released before the end of the year.
