Lotus Emeya enters PH, price starts at P8-M

MANILA: The Autohub Group of Companies has officially expanded Lotus’ electrified offering in the Philippines by bringing in the Emeya.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the Philippine-spec Lotus Emeya's variants?

The locally-retailed Lotus Emeya is available in base, S, and R trims.
  • What is Autohub Group of Companies' special offer for the Lotus Emeya?

As a special offer, the locally-offered Lotus Emeya is packaged with a complimentary XPPF Paint Protection Film, VK Series V-Kool Tint and a seven-kilowatt home charger for customers who reserve until October 31, 2024.
  • The first electric hyper GT from the British automaker, the vehicle followed the launch of the Eletre some 11 months ago.

According to the brand’s sole authorized dealer locally, the latest offering pushes the company’s vision to become an all-electric global luxury brand.

“The car brings together Lotus’ design and engineering DNA, with the latest cutting-edge technologies setting a new benchmark for what it means to drive an electric car. Emeya seamlessly blends the excellent dynamic performance that Lotus is renowned for, with world-class refinement, comfort, usability, and connectivity – bringing drivers the ultimate grand tourer package,” the company shared in a statement.

Maintaining Lotus’ core DNA in terms of design, power and precision, safety, dynamic handling, emotion, and logic, the all-new Emeya comes with an active front grille, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler and its low center of gravity stance.

Powering the vehicle are two electric motors (with full-time all-wheel drive and Lotus ICC Intelligent Torque Distribution) provides up to 905 horses — allowing the vehicle to accelerate zero to 100 kilometers per hour (kph) in less than 2.8 seconds and hit 200 kph in nine seconds.

The vehicle’s powertrain provides five driving modes (Range, Tour, Sport, Individual, and Track) while its active aerodynamic features deliver a 0.21Cd-drag coefficient or downforce of around 150 kilograms.

Providing the electric motor’s juice is its high-performance, twin-layer battery with cooling attributes — letting the vehicle cover as much as 610 kilometers (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure standards).

The battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 14 minutes, using a 400-kilowatt DC charger. The brand’s local retailer noted that Lotus uses a cell-to-pack battery structure, which means that 20 percent more cells can be packaged in the same space compared to a standard module architecture.

To optimize efficiency, performance, and comfort in any environment, drivers can adjust the ride height, air suspension stiffness, acceleration response, and seat configuration (with adjustable side bolsters), among others.

Further, the all-new Lotus Emeya’s electronically-controlled air suspension system features advanced onboard sensors that responds to changes in road conditions and automatically adjusts the vehicle set-up.

Reducing unsprung weight and braking distance are the car’s lightweight carbon ceramic brakes.

Moreover, the all-new Lotus Emeya has been incorporated with the latest technology hardware, with its own proprietary software made up of the following:

    • Two NVIDIA DRIVE Orin systems-on-a-chip, which are used to process data from 34 state-of-the-art surround sensors up to 30 times a second, offering 360-degree perception with no blind spots; and
    • Four deployable LiDAR, 18 radars, up to seven eight- megapixel cameras and five two- megapixel cameras that scans for obstacles under a 200-meter radius (even in low light or inclement weather).

Other everyday amenities that owners can enjoy from the all-new Lotus Emeya are its 509-liter space and 31-liter front trunk capacity, ambient lighting, five massage modes at three different intensity levels, power-assisted doors, a kick sensor on the tailgate, advanced intelligent panoramic glass roof (which drivers can switch between opaque and clear).

The marque also employed technical artistry in the vehicle's interior and exterior design by fitting repurposed fibers from the fashion industry (Wyron Truecycle), knurled metal on all interior touchpoints, crafted carbon fiber exterior elements, and unique daytime running lights.

Those who will get the all-new Emeya will also have a 15.1-inch high-definition OLED Lotus HyperOS infotainment system powered by Unreal Engine gaming technology, a 55-inch head-up display, and KEF in-car audio system (that has a Uni-Q speaker design and Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure, combined with Dolby Atmos enabled 3D surround sound system).

    • Base: P8 million
    • S: P8.5 million
