Lotus unveils full specs, price of Emira V6 First Edition
MANILA: Lotus has officially revealed the price and full specifications of the all-new Emira V6 First Edition. The car is loaded with a multitude of technologies, infotainment features, and comfort features, plus a unique badging.
Lotus has also announced the price of the new Emira V6 First Edition. The car costs £75,995 (approximately P5.204 million) in major European markets. In Germany, it is priced at €95,995 (approximately P5.645 million). Prices in other international markets, including USA and China, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
In a statement, Lotus Cars Managing Director Matt Windle said, “The Emira is the most accomplished Lotus we've ever made, and to celebrate and reward our keenest early customers, we want to make the first cars extra special to own. The features have been carefully selected by our design team to make for a truly special and distinct First Edition.”
The Emira is a mid-engine premium sports car that personifies the transformation of the Lotus brand. It features a striking design, exhilarating performance, class-leading ride and handling, excellent aerodynamics, and an unparalleled driving experience.
The distinctive brand signature and core values of the Elise, Exige, and Evora have been combined in the Emira. The all-new sports car is crafted on a lightweight bonded aluminum chassis—technology pioneered by Lotus and remains an integral part of the brand’s sports car DNA.
The Emira V6 First Edition is powered by a Lotus-honed 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine that churns out 400hp. The engine is paired to a six-speed manual gearbox with a visible gear-change mechanism and hydraulic power-assisted steering.
The car is also equipped with 20-inch ultra-lightweight V-spoke forged alloy wheels that were diamond-cut to achieve a premium two-tone finish. The wheels are available in silver and gloss black versions. The Emira V6 Sports Edition also comes with twopiece brake discs with branded calipers and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The First Edition is available in six vibrant color variants: Seneca Blue, Magma Red, Hethel Yellow, Dark Verdant, Shadow Grey, and Nimbus Grey. Lotus will roll out more color variants in 2022.
The car exterior features an all-LED lighting system, a titanium exhaust finisher, heated power-fold door mirrors and rear parking sensors. It comes standard with the Lower Black Pack which gives a gloss black finish on the front bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser.
The car also comes in seven interior color variants: red, black, gray, and tan Nappa leather, as well as black Alcantara with either red, yellow, or gray stitching. The cabin is made even more luxurious by the satin chrome trim finishers, white interior mood lighting, and Lotus-branded sill kick plates.
It is also equipped with heated seats that feature 12-way adjustability and two memory presets connected to the door mirrors. Other interior features include climate control, cruise control, keyless start, and selectable drive modes.
In select markets, the Emira V6 First Edition also comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite navigation. It also features a 10-channel/340W premium audio system developed in partnership with British brand KEF and a DAB digital radio. All these functions are accessed through a 10.25-inch centrally mounted touchscreen with driver feedback through a 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster. The car also comes with a multi-function steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, and USB/12V sockets.
The Emira V6 First Edition also comes standard with three more option packs. The Drivers Pack gives customers the choice of Tour or Sport suspension with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires, or Sport suspension with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Meanwhile, the Design Pack equips the car with a privacy glass, sports pedals, a black Alcantara headliner, Lotus-branded footwell mats, and either black-, red-, yellow-, or silver-painted brake calipers. The Convenience Pack gives the car front parking sensors, rear reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers with aero blades, auto-dimming mirrors, and rear luggage storage net.
Customers can also opt to add a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift and the Black Pack which colors the roof, cantrails, mirror backs, rear Lotus badge and exhaust finisher.
The production of the Emira V6 First Edition is set to begin in the spring, with the "i4" four-cylinder First Edition arriving in the autumn. In 2023, Lotus will be launching an entry-level Emira which will be priced at £59,995 (approximately P4.111 million).
