After the implementation of the provisional price hike, the new fare for TPUJs is now P13.How much is the new fare for MPUJs?
The new temporary fare for MPUJs is P15.On that note, the new fare for Traditional Public Utility Jeepneys is now P13 (previously P12) while the fare for Modern Public Utility Jeepneys is now P15 (previously P14).
The provisional increase in the fare for the said public transport modes was given the green light by the agency to help operators and drivers with today’s rising fuel prices.
That said, the increase will only be temporary and only until pump prices continue to skyrocket. A P5 increase is still being considered by LTFRB.
Further, the land transportation franchising bureau noted that operators and drivers are not required to post an updated tariff matrix as the implemented increase will only affect the flag-down rate for PUJs and not add to the fare for the succeeding kilometers.
The agency also reminded operators and drivers to continue to honor discounts granted to passengers who are senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and students.
