The current driver's license exam takes about an hour. What are the exams that are being assessed by the LTO?
The exams that are being assessed include the ones for new non-professional license and driver's license holders, changing the classification of a non-professional driver's license to a professional driver's license, and adding a driver's license code.LTO Chief Jay Art Tugade admitted that one of the factors contributing to some applicants taking advantage of the offer of fixer services is the lengthy process at the agency.
After discovering that the current driver's license examination takes an hour, Tugade immediately ordered the creation of a committee to assess the set of questions and, if possible, shorten it without affecting the abilities of the drivers who would pass.
“The instruction I gave to our committee was to compress the exam. This exam reportedly takes about an hour. The agency is now studying how to shorten the exam. I believe that by reducing the exam duration, our applicants will not seek out fixers and will opt to take the exam themselves,” Tugade stated.

In addition to reducing the exam time, the committee is looking into ways to make the questions “customized” based on the license classification or driver's license code that is being applied.
