Maruti Suzuki to display the Futuro-e at Auto Expo 2020 in India
MANILA: Auto Expo is the grandest of the automotive events which transpire in India every year. Automobile manufacturers arrive at the mega event with their new offerings, updated models, concepts, and whatnot! This time around, Maruti Suzuki, the Indian arm of Suzuki Motor Corporation will be setting up their booth with the Futuro-e concept. And, the automaker has teased the all-electric SUV even before the bonanza begins.
Designed in India itself, the Maruti Suzuki Futuro-e will is said to take on the rivals in the utility vehicle segment and allure the younger lot of the population. Featuring a coupé-style body, high set bonnet, LED headlamps, Y-shaped LED tail lamps, bold shoulder line, the all-electric Futuro-e SUV could very well make its way out of the production line 2021.

Its beauty is evident from its simplicity and magnificent detailing", said CV Raman, Senior Executive Director of engineering, Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
On the mechanical front, it is all going to remain a mystery until Maruti Suzuki reveal the details at the Auto Expo 2020. Anyway, the first-ever EV SUV by Maruti Suzuki is said to be bigger than the Vitara Brezza and sport a single-charge range of 300km or even more and also regenerative braking. Other feautres like a large touchscreen infotainment unit, automatic climate control, ABS with EBD & BA, multiple airbags, and many others. Once launched, the production model of the Futuro-e will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and the soon to be launched Mahindra XUV300 Electric.
"The design of Concept Futuro-e is a fascinating fusion of a coupé with an SUV. It is a significant departure from the mainstream SUV architecture and is expected to raise the design bar of Utility Vehicles in India", added CV Raman.
