Maxus is in the Philippines, G10 and V80 launched

MANILA: Not so long ago, Ayala was seen testing the Maxus G10 in the Philippines prior to the MPV’s launch in the country. Yesterday, i.e., on 5 June 2019, the Chinese automobile brand Maxus was launched in the Philippines.

Maxus has already been selling its vehicles around the globe in different regions like Europe, Australia, Qatar, and others. As a matter of fact, Maxus is owned by the Chinese auto giant SAIC and the badge has landed on the Philippine shores with a portfolio that comprises of two MPVs.

To start off with, we have the Maxus G10, a premium family oriented MPV. The Maxus G10 can accommodate around 9 people thanks to the captain seats even in the third row and then a 60:40 split type bench at the back. The Maxus G10 comes with interior features like front & rear AC, dual sliding doors, 200 V power inverter, cruise control, leather-fabric upholstery, powered front seats, and a seven-inch touchscreen with AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.

Under the hood, the Maxus G10 comes housing a 1.9-litre turbo-diesel CRDi inline-four that makes a maximum power of 150 PS at 4,000 rpm and 350 Nm of peak torque from 1,800 to 2,600 rpm. The mill comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Speaking of the safety features, the Maxus G10 gets front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, reverse camera, and an engine immobilizer. The Maxus G10 gets a price tag of Php 1,680,000.

Moving on to the Maxus V80, the MPV comes in three variants namely Flex, Transport, and Comfort. While the Transport model can accommodate 18 people inside of it, the Comfort and Flex can hold 13 and 3 people, respectively. On the inside, the Maxus V80 gets front and rear AC, fabric seats, and a 2-DIN infotainment system that comes equipped with USB, Bluetooth, and AUX connectivity.

The feature inside both the Comfort and the Transport trims remain same, however, the Basic model, i.e., Flex gets a three-seater setup only as it serves the purpose of cargo haulier. Irrespective of their seating capacities, all three variants of the Maxus V80 can carry up to 1.1-ton of cargo without a fuss. On the mechanical side, the Maxus V80 gets its juices from a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder CRDi that churns out 136 PS of maximum power at 3,800 rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm from 1800 to 2,600 rpm.

The transmission here is a six-speed manual. In terms of safety equipment, there are front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and an engine immobilizer on board. The three variants of the Maxus V80 come at - V80 Comfort for Php 1,570,000, V80 Transport for Php 1,288,000, and V80 Flex for Php 1,190,000.
