Mazda CX-30 is en route to the Philippines
MANILA: So, it is not just the Mazda CX-8 that will land on the Philippine shores real soon. Instead, the Mazda CX-30 is also on its way to the country. In a recent post on its official Facebook page, Mazda Philippines has shared an image of the CX-30 with a caption that reads "Soon, you will see this beauty", hinting towards the arrival of the newest crossover by the Japanese automobile manufacturer.
Ready to be slotted between the already on-sale CX-3 and the CX-5, the all-new Mazda CX-30 will lock horns with the likes of the Subaru XV, Honda HR-V, and other models in the segment. Also known as a tall-riding Mazda 3, the CX-30 features the Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture alongside a two-walled construction. Moreover, around 30% of the crossover's body is made up of 980 MPa rated steel. Thanks to solid construction and the usage of high-grade steel, the Mazda CX-30 sports very good NVH insulation.
Having a look at the specs sheet of the soon launching Mazda CX-30. the crossover stands 4,395 mm long, 1,795 mm wide, and 1,540 tall. The ground clearance and the wheelbase, on the other hand, measure 175 mm and 2,655 mm, respectively. The ride quality should also be right up there with the suspension setup comprising of an independent MacPherson Strut at the front and a Torsion Beam Axle at the rear.
In the Philippines, the Mazda CX-30 should come housing a 2.0-litre Skyactiv-G engine that is capable of generating 154 hp of maximum power and a peak torque of 200 Nm. It is the same motor that powers the Mazda3 as well. Also, the gearbox is expected to be the same 6-speed automatic unit that we have already seen on the Mazda3. While the Mazda CX-30 is speculated to arrive in a 2WD guise, the crossover might just make its entry with an AWD powertrain. So, how excited are you then for the Mazda CX-30?
