MANILA: Mazda has revealed a crossover concept at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show, and it's not an ordinary crossover as it may sound. With its new creation, Mazda aims to take this high-in-demand segment to an all new level, like no one has ever experienced. Named as 'KOERU', which literally means 'exceed' or 'go beyond' in Japanese, the concept seems to justify every inch of its name. The next-generation Mazda features brand’s well known SKYACTIV technologies and the KODO- Soul of Motion design language.

Looks, from one of the most integral part of a car, and Mazda combines the power and vitality of a wide animal in all its creation. This one is no exception and is targeted to the customers with 'cutting-edge' mindset, who likes to hold valuable possessions, created to deliver 'pure driving pleasure'. Exterior body is a blend of class and aggression, and the red color car on display truly showcased a revolutionary design which hints towards a pure Japanese sole. The outer body resembles the current ongoing models, but as additional perks, the new crossover is bestowed with aerodynamic features that will increase its performance by manifold.

Dubbed as the next-generation CX-9, we can hope to see some similar styling elements when the large SUV will be revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this year. Coming back to the Frankfurt, the KOERU concept appeared to be built on the same platform as that of current CX-5, and its main dimension sheet read as: 4,600 X 1,900 X 1,500 (L X W X H) in mm, while the wheelbase measured 2,700 mm. On the technological front, the car is armed with i-ACTIVSENSE and Mazda Connect.

The i- ACTIVSENSE is an advanced safety system that is based on brand's philosophy, 'Mazda Proactive Safety' aimed to reduce the damage that could be caused by a potential accident. Next up is the Mazda Connect also known as MZD Connect, a car-connectivity system designed to support self-driving and onboard information system. In addition to the above-mentioned techs, the crossover concept also gets the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) technology that works on reducing noise inside the cabin area.

Power train specifications were not revealed by Mazda, but one thing that we know is the presence of SKYACTIV technology and that will ensure high-performance figures and low fuel consumption. A 'Jinba-ittai driving performance and refined ride comfort' is what you can expect Mazda to deliver.
