Mazda sells nearly 1-M vehicles in Jan.-Sept. 2023

MANILA: Mazda sold a total of 931,458 vehicles from January to September 2023 — corresponding to an 11.5-percent increase versus the same period last year.

In September alone, the Japanese carmaker delivered 107,019 units to customers all over the world.

The CX-5 was Mazda’s best-selling model in September, with 27,390 units sold. It was followed by the Mazda 3 with 18,814 units and the CX-30 with 18,741 units.

From January to September, Mazda sold 139,109 vehicles in its home country, while 272,617 units were delivered to customers in the United States.

141,955 Mazda vehicles were sold in European countries, while 57,259 units were sold in China.

The remaining 320,518 units were sold in other regions.

Mazda also reported that they were able to produce 919,057 units from January to September — 119,175 of which were manufactured in September alone. This reflects a 16.9-percent increase compared to its total production volume in the first three quarters of 2022.

622,487 Mazda vehicles were produced in Japan, corresponding to a 17.4-percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, 296,570 units were built in overseas manufacturing facilities, 16 percent higher versus the same period in 2022.

In Japan, 35,694 CX-5 units were assembled in September alone. Mazda was also able to produce 8,571 CX-90 units and 8,564 Mazda 3 units in its home country.

11,861 Mazda 3 units were manufactured overseas in September, while 11,831 CX-30 units were built and 8,190 CX-50 units were produced in the same month.
