Mercedes-AMG unveils four new Art Cars in collaboration with Palace
MANILA: The creative collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and British skateboard and streetwear brand Palace is approaching its second phase after a great start last year. While the first collaborative Capsule Collection's presentation at the Nurburgring last year concentrated on the motorsport theme, the focus now shifts from the racetrack to the street and the lifestyle in major cities.

The four Mercedes-AMG series models turned into Art Cars to highlight the new collection are Mercedes-AMG A 45 S, Mercedes-AMG GT 63, Mercedes-AMG SL 63, and Mercedes-AMG G 63.
Each model has a seven-layer fade paint finish, which means it changes color. The AMG emblems and Palace logos, which are spread across the entire body, are also featured on all four models. The cool vibe that distinguishes Palace apparel is also present in the interiors. This is made possible by the exclusive special colors for the seat upholstery and door center panels, specially designed floor mats, embossed logo headrests and armrests, and LED door projectors that show the partnership logo on the ground when the door is opened.
The one-off examples were painted and modified at the AMG Performance Studio in Affalterbach, Germany. The Mercedes-Benz facility in Bremen created the SL 63 as a special body. The components needed for the Affalterbach special paint job were taken off the line and returned into the just-in-sequence production process.
The second joint Capsule Collection features trousers, hoodies, jackets, T-shirts, vests, beanies, and caps that all have a "motor mechanic" style. This is celebrated throughout the collection as everyday fashion that isn't merely for function. All pieces will be available in Palace's four flagship stores, as well as online at palaceskateboards.com, starting March 25, 2022, 7:00 a.m. EDT (March 25, 2022, 7:00 p.m. Manila Time).
Mercedes-AMG and Palace have also launched a joint campaign to introduce the Art Cars and the second collaborative Capsule Collection. With Palace's trademark humor and self-irony, the tagline "Affalterbach to the world" lifts "little" Affalterbach to the status of an international city, on par with London, Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo. The campaign will run from March 21 to 25.
