Mercedes-Benz PH unveils facelifted CLA, GLB

MANILA: Mercedes-Benz Philippines has unveiled the face-lifted versions of the CLA coupe and the GLB sport utility vehicle (SUV).

The updated iterations of the two nameplates look to set a new benchmark for the compact car and SUV segments, through elegance and performance — the local distributor of Mercedes-Benz cars noted.

Mercedes-Benz CLA

The Mercedes-Benz CLA now boasts a redesigned front apron with LED high-performance headlamps and adaptive high beam assist. Further highlighting its sporty yet classy looks is a set of new 18-inch multi-spoke light alloy wheels.

A hood adorned with power domes and a flat, sporty rear end ensures that the Mercedes-Benz CLA remains an iconic coupe, whether it’s driven on the road or parked in the garage.

Inside, the updated Mercedes-Benz CLA gets a seamlessly integrated Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) Multimedia System with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital instrument panel.

Additionally, it also gets a spacious center console complemented with a 12-volt socket and a USB interface for added convenience. It also gets ambient lighting to help set the mood inside the cabin.

Powering the face-lifted Mercedes-Benz CLA is a turbocharged inline-four engine that makes as much as 163 horsepower (hp) with 270 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. The powerplant is paired with a seven-speed transmission.

Drivers can select from the four available driving modes (Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Individual) to suit the Mercedes-Benz CLA’s performance depending on the situation. Moreover, safety features such as active brake assist and attention assist can give its would-be owners peace of mind when using the luxurious coupe.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA is priced from P3.990 million.

Mercedes-Benz GLB

Serving as a prime example of the Mercedes-Benz GLB wears appointments that set it a cut above the rest. These include a set of new 19-inch AMG five-twin spoke light alloy wheels and LED high-performance headlamps.

The updated Mercedes-Benz GLB also gets the large three-pointed star at the fore with an opulent grill for its backdrop. Large vents on the SUV’s cheeks give it a robust character that makes it an ideal ride whether for quick city trips or spontaneous adventures outside the metro.

Touted as both a luxurious family car and a young professional’s daily driver, the Mercedes-Benz GLB is fitted with creature comfort amenities such as a seven-inch digital display, the MBUX Multimedia System, and convenient center console storage.

It also boasts a generous cargo space with a maximum luggage space of up to 1,812 millimeters with the second-row seats folded down. Speaking of which, the seats for the second-row passengers fold in a convenient 40/20/40 split configuration. The third-row, on the other hand, have 50/50-split setting.

With all rear seats folded down, the Mercedes-Benz GLB boasts an expansive cargo area, ensuring ample room for all types of adventures.

Powering the Mercedes-Benz GLB is a four-cylinder powerplant that dishes out some 165 hp with 270 Nm of pulling power. It is mated to a seven-speed transmission.

The Mercedes-Benz GLB is priced from P4.590 million.
