Mercedes-Benz US sales inch up by 1.1% in 2021
MANILA: Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) moved 60,326 passenger vehicle units in the last quarter of 2021, while Mercedes-Benz Vans sold 15,705 units, bringing MBUSA’s quarterly sales to a total of 76,031 units, a decline of -20.2% versus the same period last year. On a year-to-date basis, MBUSA has sold 276,102 passenger vehicles and 53,472 vans, bringing MBUSA’s total year-to-date sales to 329,574 units, up 1.1% versus the previous year.

The GLE model line led the brand’s US sales in the fourth quarter with 17,495 units sold. It was followed by the GLC with 13,674 units sold. The GLS claimed the third spot with 6,786 units.
The GLE also led the brand’s year-to-date sales with 65,074 units. It was followed by the GLC with 51,805 units. The C-Class rounded out the top three with 30,815 units.
There were 6,471 units (-41.8%) of Mercedes-Benz high-performance models sold in the US the fourth quarter of 2021, with 37,855 units (11.1%) sold year-to-date.
33,098 units of Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models were also sold in the US in the fourth quarter of 2021, up 6.6% versus the same period in 2020. Year-to-date, MBCPO sold a total of 143,423 units, reflecting a 13.1% increase versus the previous year.
