MIAS 2024: Astara reignites JAC presence in PH

MANILA: Astara Philippines has reignited JAC Motors’ presence in the country at the Manila International Auto Show 2024.

During the four-day auto expo, Astara Philippines — which also manages GAC, JMC, and Peugeot in the country — heralded the strengthened presence of JAC Motors by displaying the brand’s full lineup consisting of three sport utility vehicles (SUV), two pickup trucks, and one electric vehicle.

JAC JS4

The JAC JS4 is one of the three SUVs offered by the car brand. Its highlights include a parallel geometric grille, inverted number seven-shaped LED headlamps, automatic climate control, and an infotainment screen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

JAC JS6

Announced as the brand’s flagship SUV, the JAC JS6 boasts a 1.5-liter turbo engine. It also has other premium features like a 24.6-inch dual-screen display, a 360-degree panoramic camera, convenient smartphone wireless charging, multiple airbags, and leather seats among others.

JAC JS8 Pro

JAC Motors mixes style and functionality with the JS8 Pro.

Per the reinvigorated marque, the JAC JS8 Pro wears a striking star waterfall armor front grille, threading rear lights, illuminated scuff plates, split headlamps with deep space radium lighting, and 19-inch five-rim sport wheels.

In addition, it also flaunts a 360-degree skylight panoramic sunroof, plush seating, a 12.3-inch floating screen, a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel, multiple charging outlets and charging ports, as well as ample and convenient storage options.

The JAC JS8 Pro is powered by a potent 1.5-liter engine.

JAC T8 Pro, T9

JAC Motors Philippines’ two pickup truck lineup includes the T8 Pro and T9.

The JAC T8 Pro is touted as a solution for fleet owners. It gets a 2.0-liter CTI engine that can make as much as 167 horses with 410 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. Other amenities designed to make its occupants comfortable include leather trims and an audio unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Meanwhile, the JAC T9 is offered as a lifestyle family truck with all the bells and whistles like a laser-brushed texture dashboard, a spacious 10.4-inch vertical infotainment screen, a seven-inch instrument cluster, and luxurious premium leather seats.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter CTI engine that delivers a formidable 167 horsepower and 410 Nm of torque.

JAC Ytterby

The JAC Ytterby is the brand’s entry into the budding electric vehicle segment in the Philippines.

The battery-electric vehicle boasts an estimated range of 505 kilometers while offering an array of technologies like a 12.8-inch high-definition touchscreen, a 360-degree panoramic sunroof, and a parking assistance system.

“The debut of JAC Motors' lineup at the 2024 MIAS marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for the brand in the country, setting the stage for a series of model launches scheduled to commence in the coming months. Start of retails are planned to commence in August this Year,” Astara wrote in a press release.
