Full-electrified vehicle could be priced around P2-M
MANILA: Chery Auto Philippines (CAP) is giving visitors of the ongoing Manila International Auto Show 2024 a treat by having the public preview of the EQ7.

The electric vehicle's drag coefficient is 0.31.Soon to join the marque’s local lineup, the Chery EQ7 shared the spotlight with the new plug-in hybrid electric vehicle version of the Tiggo 7 and 8 Pro.
While waiting for the full details, CAP gave some bits of information about the forthcoming vehicle.
The full-electric Chery EQ7 boasts a minimalist streamlined styling with a 0.31 wind drag coefficient supported by an active grille system that intelligently closes or opens according to running conditions.
Its luxurious and futuristic cabin also has a class-leading wheelbase length that assures space for both driver and passengers. The said feature is complemented by nifty amenities such as the dual-zone air conditioning system that purifies recirculating air and dual 12.3-inch monitors.
The vehicle also offers an L2+ semi-autonomous driving system that includes multi-scenario advanced driver assistive technologies, as well as a driver monitoring system to check the state of the driver in real time.
Aside from that, the eQ7 is fitted with an all-aluminum body structure and adopts an upgraded lithium iron phosphate battery, which has passed the test of the highest waterproof grade IPX9K.
The arriving offering is expected to be priced at around P2 million.
Those at the event may also check out the Chery Tiggo 7 PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, which are both powered by 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with two electric motors equipped with a 19.27-kilowatt-hour ternary lithium battery. The mill setup is mated to a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.
Per CAP, the powertrain configuration has a combined power output of 322 horsepower and 545 Newton-meters of torque. The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV can travel 80km in pure EV mode while the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV has a pure EV range of 75km.
The nameplates are also outfitted with Sony eight-speaker audio system, a pair of 12.3-inch screens (instrument panel and infotainment system), around view monitors, six airbags, and advanced driver assistive systems.
The Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV is indicatively priced at P1.8 million.
During his speech, Chery Auto Philippines Managing Director Froilan Dytianquin underscored the Q Power technology incorporated in all the Chery vehicles. “All Chery models are equipped with Chery’s QPower technology to ensure that both technology and sustainability are both present in all its vehicles,” Dytianquin said.
“As the brand takes its game to the next level, Chery is starting to complement its current vehicle lineup with new energy derivatives such as Hybrids, PHEVs and new full Electric Vehicle models,” he added.
Relatedly, a meet-and-greet will be put up for the Chery Tiggo Crossovers (CTC) volleyball team and their fans on Saturday at 1 p.m. Fans and visitors are given the chance to interact with their favorite CTC volleyball players and win exciting prizes.
