MIAS 2025: Foton PH introduces Wonder pickup truck

MANILA: Foton Motor Philippines Incorporated, under the management of United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated (UAAGI), has launched the all-new Wonder mini pickup truck at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) 2025. 

Available as a double-cab version as of its local introduction, the Wonder is classed as an affordable logistics solution for businesses. As such, it targets locally available competitors like the Toyota LiteAce and Suzuki Carry.

Foton Wonder: specifications

Appearance-wise, the Foton Wonder that was presented at MIAS 2025 came in the form of a double-cab pickup truck with a two-tone color scheme. Its front end bears halogen headlamps with front foglamps. The Foton-made vehicle also rides on a set of 14-inch wheels. 

Here are the overall dimensions of the Foton Wonder double-cab version:

Inside, the model has a neatly designed cockpit equipped with a flat-bottom steering wheel, an air-conditioning system, and a touchscreen central display. 

Propelling the pickup truck is a 1.6-liter DAM16NS inline-4 gasoline engine paired with a five-speed manual. It is rear-wheel-drive, and it can generate up to 118 horsepower (hp) and 152 Newon-meters (Nm) of torque. According to Foton, the vehicle also boasts a payload capacity of 915 kilograms. 

Pricing for the Foton Wonder double-cab starts at P788,000. Included with each purchase of the mini pickup truck is a five-year, or 150,000 kilometer (whichever comes first) warranty package. 

Other Foton MIAS 2025 highlights

Apart from launching the all-new Wonder, Foton Philippines also showcased the Traveller Sierra electric vehicle (EV), a heavily customized Traveller Sierra, and the Tunland V9 pickup truck. 

To note, the Traveller Sierra EV was introduced to the market in 2024, and it is equipped with a 77 kilowatt-hour battery and an electronic motor. At maximum, the said van can generate up to 181 hp and 330 Nm of torque while providing a range of 303 kilometers. Pricing for the Foton Traveller Sierra EV starts at P2.5 million. 

The Foton Tunland V9, meanwhile, is a diesel-hybrid pickup truck currently retailing for P1.998 million. At maximum, the said model can generate up to 161 hp and 450 Nm of torque. 

Last but not least is a heavily customized version of the Foton Traveller Sierra. It was built in partnership with Primera Klasse - a Quezon City-based car customization specialist. 

The aforementioned custom Traveller Sierra is a turbodiesel unit. To be more specific, it uses a 2.0-liter Aucan 4F20 mill capable of putting out 161 hp and 390 Nm of torque. The said engine is paired with a eight-speed automatic transmission. 

The unit's vast array of customizations includes a luxurious interior fitted with multiple digital displays, a sizeable main entertainment screen, and leather-wrapped captain seats.
