MIAS Wired: Jeep PH points to new Compass as fit for 'urban lifestyle'
MANILA: At the MIAS Wired, among the vehicles the Jeep brand (through the Auto Nation Group) showcased was the Compass.
A sneak peek of the vehicle was done initially in last year’s MIAS, but now a more complete look was afforded virtual attendees of MIAS.
The new Jeep Compass is said to be ideal for the “urban lifestyle,” specifically for career-driven professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone who needs a daily driver in the metro.
The signature seven-slot grille is regarded as a standout in the new Compass, with a muscular appeal further strengthened by 17-inch fine silver aluminum wheels with all-season tires, as well as a sporty headlamp with daylight running lamp that ensures a thrilling adventure while on the road.
It also features a dual-pane sunroof that enables fresh air to circulate within the cabin while driving. The LED tail lamps give emphasis to the rear, further showing off its sporty design and making an impression on each turn.
Under its hood, the Compass is powered by a 1.4-liter Multi-Air turbo engine with Engine Stop Start, which is mated to a seven-speed dual dry-clutch transmission. The engine generates a torque of 250Nm and a power output of 162hp.
The new Compass also features several classic Jeep styling highlights that provide a distinctive look, enabling it to blend well within the Jeep portfolio.
The vehicle is fitted with a seven-inch touchscreen display with a six-speaker infotainment system inside. It is also powered by the UConnect 4 system with Apple CarPlay, thereby offering seamless entertainment and making navigation more convenient for the driver.
The integrated voice command enables the driver to reach his or her destination without getting lost and confused in numerous routes. In addition, the system is also fitted with Baidu Carlife app.
The new Compass also provides sufficient storage space for any road trip since its rear seats can be folded 60/40.
Moreover, it is equipped with tie-down loops, a compartment cover, and a lamp. The side roof rails, on the other hand, offer secure attachment points for sports and other fitness equipment.
When it comes to safety features, the new Compass includes the ParkSense Rear Park Assist and ParkView Rear back-up camera for more efficient parking, Electronic Stability Control for assistance during intense steering maneuvers, and the electric park brake for stopping the vehicle evenly and instantly when engaged.
Similar to other Jeep models, the new Compass also features other safety features like next-generation airbags, electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, electric power steering, electronic park brake, battery rundown protection, anti-lock four-wheel disc brakes, and all-speed traction control.
The Jeep Compass is priced at P1.85 million.
