Mini JCW Pro wins 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours ahead of world premiere

MANILA: The Mini John Cooper Works Pro has won the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours SP-3T class.

Per the British car brand, the new-generation model — which is set to make its world premiere around the latter part of 2024 — not only secured its victory in the famed endurance race but also clocked a “stunning” lap time of 10 minutes and six seconds.

Behind the wheel of the winning #317 Mini John Cooper Works Pro was Markus Fischer, who shared the cockpit with Charlie Cooper, Christoph Kragenings, and Sebastian Sauerbrei.

Per the BMW-owned car brand, the said win “underscores the capabilities and future potential of the next-generation Mini John Cooper Works models.”

Also raking in a commendable third-place finish at the 2024 Nürburgring 24 Hours VT-2 class was the #474 Mini John Cooper Works. It recorded a lap time of 10 minutes and 44 seconds.

Piloting the race car were Marco Zabel, Sascha Korte, and Andreas Hilgers und Michael Bräutigam.

On the year Mini celebrates the 60th anniversary of the famous first Monte Carlo victory, we continue to keep the Mini racing spirit alive. The legacy that John Cooper created continues to drive us forward,” outgoing Mini Head Stefanie Wurst said.
