Mitsubishi officially starts all-new Triton’s retail in PH

After around five months of waiting since its helm confirmed its local introduction, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially commenced sales for the all-new Triton.

Dimension
Except for the fully dressed up option, the all-new Mitsubishi Triton is 5,320 millimeters (mm) long, 1,865 mm wide 1,775-1,795 mm tall with a 3,130-mm wheelbase. Its ground clearance ranges from 203-222 mm.
It boasts a bigger bed which is 1,555 mm in length, 1,545 mm in width, 525 mm high with a cargo floor height ranging from 800-820 mm.
Exterior
Up front, the all-new Mitsubishi Triton wears a more aggressive fascia — thanks to its square-shaped grille, skid plate, under cover, and the famous Dynamic Shield Design. The vehicle’s overall layout earned recognition from the Good Design Award 2023 from Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
Its new headlight design is fitted with either multi-projector LED or halogen illumination while the fog lamps are either bulb or LED type.
Complementing the bold character lines at the vehicle’s lower portion are the 16-inch steelies or 18x7.5J alloy wheels (either in black or silver color).
At the rear, the all-new Mitsubishi Triton has rectangular combination lamps, sports or style bar (on specific trims), and a bedliner (across all variants).
Interior
Inside the cabin of the all-new Mitsubishi Triton are the multi-function steering wheel and gear shift knob (either leather-covered or in polyurethane), an instrument cluster (3.5-inch display or seven-inch LCD), touch-screen infotainment (Android Auto and Apple Carplay-ready) and up to six cup holders.
Covered in synthetic leather, the driver seat of the top-spec Mitsubishi Triton can be electronically adjusted 10 ways, while the others can be altered manually (six or four ways).
Powertrain
Powering the all-new Mitsubishi Triton is the 4N16 2.4-liter direct-inject diesel engine — with the top-of-the-line getting a two-stage turbo. The former can do 180 horsepower (hp) and 430 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque while the latter has the capability to dish out as much as 201 hp and 470 Nm.
The vehicle can be had in six-speed transmission (either in manual or automatic type)
In addition, the all-new Mitsubishi Triton has a four-wheel drive-system available on the upper variations and the top-of-the-line version outfitted with seven drive modes.
Providing the stopping power are the ventilated discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Absorbing the shocks, on the other hand, are the suspension system made up of independent wishbone with coil springs at the front and leaf springs at the back.
Safety
The all-new Mitsubishi Triton comes with a myriad of driver-assistive safety and convenience technologies such as active yaw control, trailer stability assist, hill descent control and hill start assist, active stability and traction control, emergency assist for pedal misapplication, forward collision mitigation system with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning system with lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure warning.
The said technologies helped the model secure a five-star rating from the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).
