Mitsubishi PH Partners with MarCoPay to Make Car Loan Application Easier for Seafarers

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has established a partnership with MarCoPay Inc., a member of the Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) group and operator of the MarCoPay financial platform for seafarers.

The two companies are launching a campaign to promote new vehicle sales to Filipino seamen via the MarCoPay mobile app.

Founded in 2019, MarCoPay Inc. aims to address the challenges faced by seafarers, their families, and related parties, as well as to support and improve their lives. MarCoPay primarily serves Filipino seafarers with payroll payments in electronic currency, remittance and exchange functions, and favorable terms. MarCoPay is a financial platform that offers several kinds of loans and insurance.

In 2022, MarCoPay Inc. collaborated with banks in the Philippines to offer MarCoPay-affiliated loans to seafarers. Aside from acting as a mediator for banks and seafarers to negotiate auto loan approvals, MarCoPay's affiliated loan program gives seafarers several benefits, including some of the lowest interest rates on auto loans and auto insurance products in the Philippines.

Through this newly established partnership, MMPC and MarCoPay Inc. will augment each other's services to actively promote loan approvals and vehicle purchases for Filipino seafarers in an effort to improve their standard of living.

Through a dedicated MMPC page in the MarCoPay app, MMPC and MarCoPay Inc. will assist seafarers in exploring different Mitsubishi vehicles and submitting an application for a MarCoPay-affiliated loan.

Seafarers will also be able to take advantage of exclusive benefits when they buy a Mitsubishi vehicle through the MarCoPay-affiliated loan. MMPC and MarcoPay Inc. will work together to regularly offer special promotions and services that are only available through this kind of loan.

Advertisements for seafarers will be placed by MMPC and MarCoPay Inc. on the MarCoPay app and other external media used by MarCoPay Inc. Additionally, the two companies will also be presenting their partnership and services at seafarers' gatherings across the Philippines.

Through its partnership with MarCoPay Inc., MMPC will be able to better understand the needs, current situations, and overall lifestyles of Filipino seafarers and their families. The goal of MMPC is to enhance its customers' vehicle-related lifestyles by expanding and enhancing its services.

MarCoPay Inc. will work to further deepen relations with its partner banks and strive to establish a pre-approval system that will make it easier for seafarers who are thinking about buying a car to get a loan.
