Mitsubishi PH showcases V2H ecosystem in Dendo Drive Station

MANILA: Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) officially unveiled its Mitsubishi Manila Bay outlet as the brand's flagship Dendo Drive Station in the country.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How does Mitsubishi's vehicle-to-home (V2H) energy ecosystem work?

With V2H, a Mitsubishi EV or PHEV can be charged or return the charge to a building and act as a power source.
  • Where is Mitsubishi PH's Dendo Drive Station located?

The Dendo Drive Station is located at 857 EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
  • The Dendo Drive Station is where Mitsubishi customers can learn about the power feeding functions of electric vehicles (EV) or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), MMPC said in a release.

Operated by Peak Motors Philippines, Inc. (PMPI), the Dendo Drive Station showcases Mitsubishi’s vehicle-to-home (V2H) energy ecosystem. The V2H provides charge to the Outlander PHEV as well as sending electricity from the vehicle to the station.

When used daily, the V2H powers the facility's appliances and lessens the facility's dependency on the electric grid. During power blackouts, the V2H serves as a generator.

The V2H at the Dendo Drive Station lowers the station's solar energy consumption, costs on fuel, and carbon footprint. The station also becomes a reliable source of electricity in case of power outages and other emergencies.

With the Philippines, being one of the world’s most disaster-prone countries, the V2H equipment installed at the showroom and the Outlander PHEV’s external power feeding function can directly support calamity-affected communities, MMPC explained.

The Manila Electric Company (Meralco), through its subsidiaries Spectrum, eSakay and MServ, brought the Dendo Drive components to life. Two charging pods, a bi-directional charger, and a Delta DC Wallbox, can be found inside the showroom and at the vehicle receiving area, respectively.

The official inauguration ceremony took place at 857 EDSA corner Roxas Boulevard, and was attended by representatives from MMPC and the Peak Motors Group.

“We are very happy to have achieved this milestone with our dealer partner PMPI and energy provider Meralco. Mitsubishi Motors has always been dedicated to continuously studying technologies and gaining expertise when it comes to vehicle electrification. The Dendo Drive Station is a manifestation of this, bringing a new kind of value in terms of eco-mobility,” President and CEO of MMPC Takeshi Hara expressed during the inauguration.

“Designed to be part of our commitment to help achieve a sustainable society by 2030 while at the same time impact the communities where Mitsubishi Motors dealerships are located...we hope to get more support in helping instill confidence among Filipinos when it comes PHEVs and more importantly shed some light on environmental sustainability,” the local Mitsubishi leadership added.
